This happened near my gym today.

I carry my bag with me now.
I assume it has the open pigeon holes like most of the big gyms.

My days at standard commercial gyms I had a towel that had a little zip up pocket. Let’s went in there, at most I’d leave a hoodie in the pigeon holes if it was a cold commute to the gym.

Have always carried my bag around since day dot. I don't trust anyone.

vvv that down there is one particular gym.

(Am also handing my car keys in at the desk at the pool. How easy would it be to steal a car, while someone's doing laps in the pool. Would not see a thing)

My gym has lockable lockers with a code. Once I had to draw out $800 from the ATM prior was still scared leaving it there. Was like looking around making sure no one could see the code I put in 🤣

One of my gyms have a location in the shopping centre, so its pretty hard to find where someone parked when there is multiple close parks.

Added to that, my car is a POS with no valuables, so I don't really worry at that location
Pool would be easy as. Esp if they had a couple ppl doing it.

Once I was doing laps a guy sat right next to my bag. Was so random and weird. I literally just stared at him.. in the end got out and left. Something was just not right. And there was plenty places to sit.

First time in 20 years today - we had an evacuation drill. Never had one before in all the years / times I've been to the gym.

Also, a guy 'worked in' while I was doing hex bar deads. Ended have a bit of a chat between sets, was respectful and friendly. First time for that as well.
Had a blackout once at my gym.

I wouldn't know what a deadlift was if it came up and slapped me across the face
It's a light exercise for beginners like this guy performing one:

US study in 2019, both I think it would not be unreasonable to draw some parallels with Australia.

I tihnk that's society in general. People don't like change and people don't like those newbies rocking up.

Every gym nut was new at some point.

Valid. It is daunting for newbies, the feeling that everyones watching or side-eyeing s******ing.

more curious than anything else;

people who wear hats to the gym - why?

More importantly, do the hats have stickers?

Absolutely, I remember walking into a boxing gym for the first time absolutely shitting them, luckily a bloke there recognised this and introduced himself, made me feel comfortable etc. I always try and do the same for other newbies.

On topic we've been doing a bit of friendly sparring after class, got humbled by a younger, bigger, fitter and just better bloke ha ha, good fun though.

They wouldn't have taken my piece of shit
What's a piece of shit.

I assumed NO ONE would want my 2017 Ford but while I was away my neighbour car got broken into (granted is a newer car than mine). They have keys now and are doing it in broad daylight.
