First game Jobe 1 vote Cotchin 0, second game Cotchin 3 votes Jobe 0, it was rnd 22 and Jobe had "tapered off" by that stage of the year.He didn't play during his one week suspension. He also only got his suspension in round 8, before which he had scored 16 brownlow votes.
How? Who cares how many games they played? Not fair all. Cotchin probably had one of his VFL quality preformances the two times we played Richmond and wouldn't of scored any votes anyway.
Again, only for dumb people like yourself. But the Brownlow is technically the most prestigious award in the AFL. I am right you are wrong. Also come back to me in another 8 years when you can eventually beat us
Jobe is so brave though, and the directive will come to not boo such a brave leader of men.The booing won't be because hes black though, so not a political issue.
Just to make it clear, I have no issue with the award being stripped, I have an issue with it being awarded to somebody else when the real outcome can't be known.
so typically essendon. no one else matters. The entire 2012 season should be wiped from the records.
I'm guessing it's not WADA rules that he be stripped of the medal, otherwise it would have happened already and there'd be no need for a meeting of the AFL CommissionWADA rules which the OFFAL are committed to
Gil is doing a good job, managing complex issues quite well and expect him to do the same here.
I must say it's been a rough period, sometimes it's hard copping so much abuse.
But hey, it beats being the laughing stock of the competition for the last 35 years.
All irrelevant, because had we not been cheating some players may have played into better form against us and got more votes later.Yes there were. And guess what? They pretty much all polled the maximum votes against the Bombers.
-Mitchell polled 26
-Cotchin polled 26
-Swan polled 25, and was BOG in both games against the Bombers. polled 6/6 votes against them.
-Ablett polled 24, and polled 3/3 possible votes vs the Bombers
-Dangerfield polled 23, and managed 2 votes against the Bombers. Jobe polled 3 that day so you can bump Danger's count up to 24. Doesn't change anything.
-Thompson polled 25 and didn't poll a vote behind Watson, Dangerfield and Sloane. If you remove Watson and bump the others up, Thompson could've picked up 1 vote at absolute most, meaning Cotchin and Mitchell still collect the medal. Thompson was nothing special that game so it's unlikely he would've polled even without Watson.
Nobody else got within 6 votes.
Also, Cotchin was awarded 0 votes for a 29 disposal, 3 goal game against the Bombers.
Anyway it is a moot point because using that logic you could argue the premiership should be left blank, because Essendon games altered the make up of the 8. They cost West Coast a top 4 spot which would've changed the entire first week of finals.
Nobody is stupid enough to argue that though, just like they shouldn't be stupid enough to argue that you can't tell who the true winners were. They were the guys that came 2nd behind the cheat.
They don't deserve it. Ablett, Thompson and Dangerfield deserve it.
Just to make it clear, I have no issue with the award being stripped, I have an issue with it being awarded to somebody else when the real outcome can't be known.
WADA directs the officiating body, who does the stripping ie IOC in jarred talents case,I'm guessing it's not WADA rules that he be stripped of the medal, otherwise it would have happened already and there'd be no need for a meeting of the AFL Commission
So you were cheatingAll irrelevant, because had we not been cheating some players may have played into better form against us and got more votes later.

I cant believe I just read that Mitchell and Cotchin were asked to submit proposals to the commission as to why they should get the medal.
That is just appalling behaviour from the league. Not suprised to read Mitchell said no and Cotchin probably will too. Dirty Gil has got himself an out.
According to reports Cotchin said no thanks as well, what a situation to put these players in, shows the complete lack of balls the AFL and it's commission members have, then again if they had any gonads Essendon would not have 16 flags so no surprise really. It will be hard for them emotionally because Jobe Watson is basically a good guy who was railroaded by his club.
But hes a drug cheat as confirmed by the highest authority in the world and the decision is a no brainer.
The Brownlow has to be awarded to the Fairest and Best, Mitchell and Cotchin. No problems with the board reviewing it at their next meeting but the decision has to be made at that meeting. If they declare no winner that would also be a disgrace. Mitchell and Cotchin should not be punished for playing by the rules.
Great to hear Mitchell refused to join the meeting to make a submission. He should have no part in it, the AFL should make the call. I assume Cotchin will do the same.
Paid 2 million a year but can't make a decision.....fmdAccording to reports Cotchin said no thanks as well, what a situation to put these players in, shows the complete lack of balls the AFL and it's commission members have, then again if they had any gonads Essendon would not have 16 flags so no surprise really.
The fact the Gil even believes this is a hard decision is enough to suggest that he isnt fit for his current position.
