Plus the mining companies are told to engage the aborigional community and offer apprentaceships to locals first rather then look for fly in-fly out miners from Perth so the Mining boom has done a huge favour for a lot of aborigionals i personally know.
You wont see it right away but next generation a lot of children from the guys who were able to secure work will be much better off for it and have a greater chance of a normal child-hood

some quality lulz coming from Adelaide posters, a hell of a lot more people from both overseas and interstate choose to move here over Adelaide. I think they wave from the plane as they pass above it. They cant seem to see a river there at all...its more like a stream. ...classic case of People voting with their feet.
Adelaide seems to be the odd one out compared to the other big cities and thats even with Perth being on the other side of the country, hey its better than being somewhere insignificant "in the middle" and being a stagnant city people fly over to get to the west coast. Some of Australias biggest companies are headquartered here. Perth will hit 2m people in a few years, its seen as a growing city with a bright future, it shares a timezone with Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuala Lumper and is seen as a gateway to Asia . Adelaide shares its timezone with ...Darwin (gateway to Uluru maybe?) and will actually struggle to reach 1.5m in the next 25 years and thats not kidding.

Perth has one standout feature, the beaches not for their beauty but the inferred pressure they supply.
See, the women over here know that they will have to visit the beach at some stage through the year, as a result they will work on their figure year round to be cherry ripe come November, December, January, Feb.
In my time in Melbourne a few years ago, as I ploughed my through a bevvy of women, the ability to hide a few extra kilos was a developed technique and often lead to awkward moments where I would kindly ask the heifer to leave.
Anything over 55kg is not acceptable.
That's the best feature of Perth, the quality control the beaches bring.

Moved from Melb to Perth 15 years ago, great weather, great looking women, beautiful beaches and the main tourist attraction, who gives a s&%t, stay where you are your not wanted or needed.
I spent eight hours in Adelaide on my way somewhere else(thank god), no one in their right mind would actually want a stop over in this most boring of places, my wife and I, as we could find nothing interesting to do (unless a tour of the churches rings your bell, excuse the pun) so we hid out in the city cinema, until we could finally escape, thats 8 hours of my life I will never get back.
