Twice in AFL era, once in the 80s.....

Read their Wiki page worth a laugh

My thoughts exactly...

Whilst clubs like Hawthorn and North who have been successfull and want seccess are being railroaded out of Victoria.

The most successfull Vic club in the AFL era is North.

That's amazing... I'm staggered!

Look at this quick figures I pulled up:

Code:
Club Seasons Finals Finals %
Adelaide 17 9 52.94%
Brisbane 11 7 63.64%
Carlton 111 64 57.66%

So, 3/27 is about 11%.........

I don't know what to say, I honestly didn't know that.
But you counted those 3 clubs for all their years, then just counted our worst years

Did anyone find it unusual this year about how the Tiger fans just seemed to accept Richmond's dismal season?

Very few critics tipped Richmond to finish last; anywhere between 7th and 13th was typical, given the Tigers' improvement in 2005 & 2006. However, Richmond really struggled and turned in some terrible performances against Geelong, Hawthorn, Sydney & Port Adelaide. Normally when the Tigers have a bad season, or even a slump in an adequate season, some (and not all) Richmond fans scream for players, fans and officials to be sacked, and boo their team from the ground.

But this year - nothing. Not that this is a bad thing, it just seems out of character, considering the Tigers collected an unexpected wooden spoon.

Fitzroy played in 4 finals series in the last 27 years.........and they have been dead since 96..
Hahaha nice one serenityNow :thumbsu: Awesome stats.

11%ers, any chance of you finding out the overall club % of making finals? Surely it would be above 50% like Adelaide, Brisbane & Carlton?

LOL, See Richmond are less suceesfull than a team that has not been in the comp for over a decade.

Anyone who thinks that a team with such a poor record should be in the ELITE aussie rules comp for the world is deluded, or a Devout Richmond fan (same thing)

Surely Richmond should be a merger or takeover target one day.

Centrals may be looking at taking over an AFL licenece in the near future, within next decade. Just need Andrew "Captain Victoria" Demetriou to get ousted.

I think it's because, apart from those games that you mentioned, we were in very winable positions in all of them and put in gallant efforts. I dont know about other tiges supporters, but last year, i was getting sick of every time we lost it being by 8 goals +. This year we probably took losing gallantly to a whole new level, and yeah it's still not good enough, and probably a lack of fitness and all that witht the last quarter fade outs, but at least we weren't getting flogged week in week out.

Are you for real?!

There was a period there where you "gallantly" lost games by:
53,55,66,70

And some more:
25,32,23,157!!!,40

That's 2 streaks of 9 games combined that you wouldn't want to call "gallant", Mr 11%er

Anyway, off topic, I just want to know how often Richmond have made finals as a percentage... JSFish, any idea??
