Majority of Trainers, jockeys, stablehands etc are horse people who enjoy it. Its a lifestyle.

• 25% go purely for the social aspect
• 70% follow it purely for gambling

How much do your fancy wines cost? How much do your airplane tickets cost?

Many of the chicks probably pay much more for their outfit and makeup than what the average Joe bets for a day at the races. Why no crusade on the clothing and beauty industry while we are at it? Plenty of people are living week to week but amazingly have all the best makeup and designer clothes.

Other dudes buy big utes or Harley Davidsons and live week to week. But god forbid your chosen entertainment is horses.
