Is Nathan Van Berlol the worst captain in VFL/AFL history?

OP is spot on. This guy is a terrible footballer.
Bad call on Green by the way. Perhaps the Blue supporters are still bitter about Green booting four goals as a 19-year-old in the 2000 Qualifying Final?

Cool went from a kid who had potential, to an absolute spud. Green does absolutely nothing as captain or player.

Leigh Colbert was made captain of Geelong, immediately got injured and then showed his loyalty and appreciation by pissing off to Norf without ever even playing a game as captain. Leigh Colbert was a better captain than Nathan Van Illa.

Van Berlol is the prototype CrowBot, his vanillaness is so perfect for the Camries.

Christ, I only just got it

Fun fact: Nathan Van Illa is so vanilla and uninspiring that the person I was watching the game with got him confused with Bernie Vince. 3 times. She's a Crows supporter.

Easy mistake tbh. They all look the same, all of them are blonde all of them are vanilla.

When it come to worst captain ever, he's up there with Chris McDermott.

Primus on the other hand would up there with the greatest of all time considering he managed to captain Port to a flag in 2004 despite having to spend the whole year on the sidelines, you have to give him some massive kudos being able to lead the side under such adversity :thumbsu:

Van Berlo: 9 Brownlow Votes in his first year as captain
Domenic Cashitty: 0 Brownlow Votes, career high of 5 Brownlow votes in a single year

Van Berlo > Cashitty

Thinly veiled injury trolling

Van Berlo - Can't captain his side higher than 14th

Bit premature there dav, although it's a known problem with you isn't it...;)

Van Berlo's last 6 games were a massive improvement when he got a role in the midfield and didn't have to stick to Craigy's 'structure at all costs'.

I will reserve my judgement until the end of next year, whereas we already know Dom's capabilities as an inspiring leader-3 wins.....

You are setting yourself up for a massive pwnworthy bump by this time next year.

yeah well you need all the help you can get

That's not what your family member said when I verbed their noun :rolleyes:

3 wins? He captained the side to 10th with 10 wins the previous year, do you reckon Van Berlo could manage that?

We'll find out next year won't we. You want to be careful about the family member comments, you never know their circumstances and then I may have to come on here and have a massive sook about it and at the same time reveal the issue that I didn't want you to know about.

Or I could just accept that if you come on the Bay, you get what you get....;)
