Who picked up the night they were talking about, was it Rocky or the other bloke?
Yah I thought it was Rocky from reading it,but I may be wrong. If it was Rocky it'll sound worse than if it was woman that Rocky has never seen or met.

They have nothing to give plus I don't want another trade period with them. I bet their posters would start saying "straight swap for Frost"

KB and Greg Denham were discussing the Rockliff issue this morning on SEN.

Believe it or not they got a caller who was seriously suggesting that very thing:eek:

At first Denham though the caller was saying "Watts" (Melbourne) but no......."Frost" it was

Denham ridiculed the idea and they basically then cut the guy off.

The more I think about it, the more I think Rockliff is going to be our 'Brendan Fevola.' We will offload him, someone else will pick him up and he will then implode and / or the new team will realise that he doesn't meet the required professional standards. Establised teams with solid leadership groups will not indulge him.

I think the closest comparison I can think of to where we are with Rockliff, is where the Western Bulldogs were 2 years ago with Ryan Griffen.

They traded Griffen. Worked out rather well.

Correct me if I am wrong but i always believed Griffens reasons for leaving are extremely different to Rocks

I think we need to not react here. We must rely on Fagan, Noble and Swann to investigate what Rocky's intentions and capabilities are to help us build the culture and standards both on ground and off. TBH the past 5 years seem to have been lacking in leadership and standards and I for one would like to see if Rocky intends to toe the line and be a leader with or without the captaincy at our club over the next 5 years.
Fagan must question and make it clear that it is his way or the highway and if indeed Rocky wants in he signs an extension now and takes a fair deal for 3 extra years. If he is prepared to sign on and commit to both standards and tenure then we back him in and educate and support his development to be the best he can be. If Fagan determines that Rocky is more for himself then we back him in there too and we get best deal possible while we can.

Rock was confirming that his housemate 'broke a drought' and then rated the woman his housemate brought home as a '3/10'.
Totally shows why this kind of shit should not be on a public forum (twitter). No doubt Rocky was taking the piss out of his mate rather than intending to "rate" the girl - but without any conversational context it will be taken at face value. Still stupid to say it, but no doubt I said the same crap when I was in my 20's... I was just smart enough to never write it!

I think Rocky can still become a great player if he were able to be at a club where more senior players hold him to account. He's a long way from Fevola!

He needs a strong personality to sit on him hard. Unfortunately back in 2013 when this would have been most effective our wonderful spineless wonder of a Chairman decided to cut the coach instead.

Can you imagine if Rocky had been told "No"? I reckon he could have turned out quite differently.

Cest la vie I suppose.

In a classic example of the sort of irrational tribalism football provokes, I can confirm.

If: I accept we would be better off without Tom Rockliff at the club and NobFagSchwabb need to make it happen...
Then: ...it doesn't mean I still don't think Barret is a nob.

Having weighed up all that's contained in this thread I've given up on some kind of Rocky rehabilitation program.

I'm actually more interested in whether Hanley is salvageable.

There would be others more qualified than me to comment on this.

I'm not more qualified, but I feel much the same as you.....I'v never been a fan of Rockliff, so if he goes, so be it........but after reading that Hanley is "loser fatigued" I'm wondering if that can be turned around, because I can understand him feeling frustrated etc and losing heart for the game....

If his hips are ok, then I would be having a really good chat and trying to get him to stay.........if that is all the problem is.

If there are other issues similar to Rocky, then he goes too.

I prefer fagnobschwabb....I have said to much

The case for keeping Rocky
- allow him the opportunity to flourish under a new coaching environment & return to AA form
- let him leave as a free agent at the end of next season, considering the $$$ he would ask for, it is highly likely that we would receive a first round pick directly after our first pick (likely to be within the top 5 picks). For example - Leaving us with pick 3 & 4 in next years draft. If Ballenden is not bid on with pick 1 or 2, it would then leave us with the ability to get 3 top 5 talents out of the 2017 draft.

We'd get less for him next year as he will be uncontracted ....

I know it's been said, but what a ****ing dumb thing to say. As a captain of an AFL team, it's just amazing to think he would say something like that publicly.

Dumb, dumb and more dumb.

I think someone (WTF is his manger doing??? His job shouldn't just involve maximising $$$) needs to help Rocky here, seems to be on struggle street big time.

This is where Carlton failed Fevola, I hope we don't make the same mistakes.

He would surely be a FA next year, wouldn't he?

I'm pretty sure he is. Also seeing as we will most likely be bottom 4 again next year the FA compo could land us a pick straight after our first. Be a lot better that what we can get for him this year.

Or it could be an end of first round compo, because the AFL like screwing us over. If we get an offer anywhere near in the top 15 i take it. Id take a top 15 pick and a future 2nd rounder rather than run the risk of relying on FA compo.

Doubtful. We'd be looking at end of first round at best I would have thought. Clubs aren't going to overpay for a decent player with alleged behavioural issues. We should trade him this year IMO.

It seems the link to Adelaide is pretty consistent and isn't going away. I wonder if Adelaide's 14 & next year's 2nd rounder would make it happen?

Crows pick 13 (?) and Lyons would be a good deal for us.
I wonder whether we would ask the question about Luke Brown being part of any Rockliff deal with Adelaide. If we are after role players, then that's exactly what he does by locking down opposition small forwards. I like his decision making and he hits targets. He's certainly not a superstar, but definitely goes under the radar and is super consistent and has hardly missed any games. David Noble would certainly have inside knowledge on him and I could imagine he would be rated very highly internally within the Crows for the role he plays and the job he does every week.
