so you blokes are forgetting what wallace said about not giving away 1st round picks and grooming our own players

its a load of bull**** all of it

i look at the dogs and even though i hate them i just love the way they go about it

He actually said Richmond's first preference was to build its own list and not trade away top draft picks like years gone by.... BUT he also added that it depends on the clubs situation and his preference is to build the club through youth.

Its the last part that most people forget he said.

If someone can find the article, that would help, I've had a look and cant find it.

Be patient everybody....this is a 1.30-2.00 pm deal. Miller will wait and wait and wait until Freo crack. I have full faith - Wallace wont let Miller stuff it around. If Wallace believes 13 is as good as 8 - then im in no position to tell him otherwise. Im just gunna wait on this one. I still think we could be involved in a cpl of trades b4 the end of tmrw. Why is Wallace in the US this week....thats just stupid.

Say come draft day the Tigers get someone like Hislop, Reid or one of the Browns who are KPP prospects and have a guy in Polak that has the development already in him and you have 2 KPP backmen and have given up squat to get them.

to everyone who is happy to give away pick 8 you have no ****ing idea how this draft is, dont beleive the hype that your gonna get a player at pick 110

top 10 are GUNS! no pendlebury, thomas or jon's just big ****ing blokes who can play footy

not to mention the fact that we will be giving it to SCUM, pick 8 for tarrant is a bloody joke he is out of contract next yr and another **** season from him they will be lucky to get a 2nd rounder next yr

YOUR AN IDIOT MILLER!

anyone can get a player through money, long contracts or giving gold draft picks do your ****ing job properly you desperate ****

this is also a good time to bag wallace who thought it was a good idea to pickup that washed up old **** mark graham for a servicable yr forgetting the fact we would be stuffed down the track

if browny isnt fit next yr forget it

I once again put the question to you,

If the Tigers plan to draft someone who isn't expected to b selected until 13, would you prefer to draft him with pick 8 or would you prefer to trade and get Polak as well as the player?

Of course this may not be the case however how can you slag off Miller and Richmond when you obviously have no idea who we plan to draft?

been reported that we had our 8th pick ON THE TABLE for polak and pick 13 from freo

seriously what the hell is going on, i know wallace is in the US but this is a joke

im over this ****

Good that u are over it. So let miller get back to work and get the job at hand done. He is not there to please you :thumbsu:

Everyone seems to be forgetting that Polak comes with a whopping great question mark over his head. We're taking a gamble that we can get his head straight when he seems to have been interested in everything and anything other than football over the last couple of years. I'm putting my faith in GM that the odds of him coming good are better than the difference between a top 8 and top 13 draft pick, but with Richmond's draft history I believe I'm entitled to be a bit nervous....
Using Weaver's dart board analogy, pick 13 has to be half a step back from the board than pick 8.
I know we've got problems down back but when did Polak the disinterested WAFL player with "baggage" become Polak the gun $400k a year AFL backman?

so who is the player that will fall to 13?

id rather have thorp then polak + jetta

if we were so keen on getting someone around 13 then why dont we float our pick 8 around and a club might give us 13 + 20 which i would do before the polak deal

we should be looking to get more picks and higher picks not trade down for overpaid duds

We will not take jetta. There is absolutly no guarentee that Thorp will fall to pick 8 and i highly doubt he will no matter how much i hope it happens.

Who are we going to trade to get higher picks??

As for polak, he has talent of that can be no doubt. Whether he can put on the football field is the real question. Maybe a move away from Perth to a new club and city out of his comfort zone could turn him around. That is what Miller will be trying to access and what we have to be able to trust him to do.

I can't believe the negativity here. Let the guys do what they are paid to do. There is no point us worrying about because we have no idea what is going on! None!
For the record- plenty of good players go past pick 13 in poorer drafts than this. Even recent drafts- Rischitelli 61, Sherman 45, Fisher 72, Swan 58, Dempsey, 19, Dyson 44, Stanton 13, Crowley 55, Mundy 19, Schammer 13, Egan 62, Stokes 61, Bailey 18, Birchall 14, Dawson 41, Taylor 53, Swallow 43, Bartram 53, Bate 13, Dunn 15, Ferguson 66, River 26, Chaplin 15, Pettigrew 46, Symes 30, Willits 19, Polo 20, Raines 76, L Fisher 46, S Fisher 55, Malceski 64, Butler 20, Hurn 13, Rosa 29, LeCras 37, A Selwood 53, Staker 37, Minson 20, Wight 49. It's not the end of the world if we drop a few places, just don't drop the pick altogether.
It's stupid to get so worked up about it. I'm not going to swallow my membership and jump off The Narrows just because Richmond might make a stupid trade. I'll at least wait until after the trade deadline before I get suicidal!

PLSC you have no idea about drafting or trading so dont comment on it, you just talk ****, i would rather read Bentleighs rants about draft picks which he hasnt seen. Shut up... please

Surely if we part with pick 8, Miller/ TW have some explaining to do given TW's pledge upon taking the job 2 years ago

Wouldn't we be just downgrading our 1st round pick,we would be getting a kpp + keeping a 1st rd pick (5 picks lwr)

5 picks lower is too much in my opinion. Especially when Polak is unproven.

Polak

Pick 4 in the 2001 "superdraft"..... second in the rising star award

70 games under his belt , the best part of them "quality" games . 12-18 months ago this boy would have been worth a first rounder outright and then some .....

For a big bloke he is about ready to hit his straps .....How is Jay Schulz travelling

IMHO him being dropped for the second half of this season then ultimately traded could be the kick in the @rse the boy needs

BUY LOW.....SELL HIGH .

LMAO @ the hyperbole of doom and gloom being thrown about concerning this deal ... seriously , is trading down 5 picks in a draft that is largely reported to be full of depth going to mean the heavens will cave in ?

Get a grip FFS .

The fact is that the top 4-5 pick themselves then it comes down to what is left , how good your talent scouts are , and a pretty hefty slice of luck .

Remember where Aaron Fiora was drafted and who we passed over that year

LMAO @ the hysteria ... let the boys do thier job .

I for one see our short-comings and are more than happy with this deal .

Think for 5 minutes how much a fit and firing Polak would assist the development of the likes of Schulz and Thurfield
