Is this the worst season of AFL in many a long while?

Not sure about those teams, they could easily lose those prelims.
Heeney is a star of the comp, Cameron misses too many goals and is not consistant.
The stars of the comp are Heeney, Bont, Daicos , Cripps and Neale.
Not that great group of stars besides Bont and Daicos imo.

How do you define a star?

Imagine if Geelong was allowed to host home finals and they'd had been a GMHBA final next week. Both Sydney and Geelong playing at their home grounds will be disadvantageous for other clubs.

Geelong should start to play games at Marvel or MCG

Fair dinkim evem if we ignore you're pathetic sooking regarding Geelong still being good HOW EXACTLY ARE SYDNEY NOT ENTITLED TO AN ADVANTAGE? They finished on top of the ladder ffs. Have a think for a change you embarrassing hysterical clown.

James Sicily and Tom Stewart?

Toby Greene? (Not so much this year, he's proven it over his career).

Or does it mostly need to be midfielders?

See he really doesn't like us therefore nothing about Gelong can be that good. Pretending like Dangerfield and JC aren't stars of the comp by the criteria he has stated is utter garbage but that's the usual for this imbecile.

Definitely the weakest AFL season in a long time, no great teams and 2 average sides are going to play off in a rematch of the worst AFL grand final of the century.

OP also said the 2 bst teams in it were Hawthorn and the Dogs. Can he get anything right?
Brisbane are average, should hsve got beat.
Geelong played one good final so far, Sydney were very lucky to win, Port were lucky.
Four average teams left and it will be the least anticipated GF in years but I hope Port make it and win it.

Since the start of the year the following teams have been favourites for the flag at some point;

Brisbane
Collingwood
Melbourne
GWS
Geelong
and now Sydney.

Hawks revival, WC and North promising signs, Melbourne implosion, Port booing, lots of good story lines.

But then again, my team isn’t trash with not a lot of bright spots so…
Sounds like a ripping season then.

Lol. Luck plays a role in most games.

As for lucky, how about richmond getting clear home ground and home city advantage in all 3 finals of 2017 despite finishing 3rd. That bias ruined that season.

Nothing like that this season thankfully. Home city advantages are actually earned this time round and the flag winner will have to win at least one final interstate.

It's quite silly to say it's any weaker than 2023.

For the final 4:

2023 Collingwood, Brisbane, GWS, Carlton

Is not a stronger batch of teams than

2024 Sydney, Geelong, Port Adelaide, Brisbane

Three teams that have recently (last two years) been in grand finals, compared to none in 2023.

If every team in the comp (including non finalists) is a bit more up and down then you will see some odd results and form fluctuations. Teams staying consistently good or bad all year doesn't automatically mean the comp is stronger though.

Just how it’s not advantageous to non Victorian clubs to have to play the GF at the MCG.

Geelong would also play big Victorian clubs at the MCG anyway.

God you’re a sook.

Brisbane aren’t average, they just won a game after being 44 points down. Sydney had a legitimate home final and beat a good side also. Geelong obliterated Port on the road, what else can they do? Port smashed Hawthorn in the first quarter and set the tone.

It will not be the least anticipated GF in years, the least anticipated are the big 4 circle jerking GF appearances where Collingwood and Richmond get to play home GF against interstate sides.

Just go to the Richmond board you big quince.

Only problem with your post is I have no idea which are the two teams you refer to.

Literally any of the remaining four could win the flag.
