Once again our great club finds itself at the crossroads. I believe that we have had a great off season with the appointment of a proven and media friendly coach, and the extension of Campbell Rose's contract as well as the re-signing of Adam Cooney and Farren Ray. One area we have always struggled with has been club membership numbers. Early signs are positive but we cannot relax, we need to ensure that all supporters actually become financial members and that the club achieves it's stretching target of 26,000. If we don't get near that figure this year with all the positives that we have had I don't think we ever will. I would hope that all posters on this board are paid up, but for those that are not, I was wondering if there was any valid reason you aren't which you may like to share with us all.

I can't speak on why any of the BF Doggie fans haven't signed up yet but I guess December and January is a difficult time for most people.
We have discussed this before but the club has always maintained that the fans are notorious for signing up at the last minute and that is why the pay by the month option has been so good for us. I'd be interested to know from the club if we have actually a lot of new members or if our current numbers have been inflated by the fact that most of the people who generally sign up at the last minute have now signed up early using the payment plan.

When we discussed it previously it was surprising how many people signed up on the day of our 1st home game.

I am a member and we have improved off the field,but we,ve had some shockers on it.With the club trying to improve it,s image it,s the onfield performances that have to improve before we can expect higher membershipsThe game in Darwin is a good example we have been heralding a new beginning and should of gone out of our way to win this game and our first Wizard cup game to install some confidence in our fence sitting followers
to sign up.

The Darwin game was flagged as a practice match by Eade early on, the focus needs to be on an improved showing in the pre-season cup (and getting too carried away with the all-stars match could have been counterproductive). At least this way Eade got to see how of next-in-liners shaped up under difficult conditions.

Don't know about you but my membership is a show of support for the club and reflects my happiness about the off field direction of the club. As long as I feel the club is working towards something better I am happy.

Heres hoping that this year the boys have a real dip, because I am sick of the dissapointed look on my seven year old sons face after being belted.

I guess they haven't seen too many wins at all then. I know another little kid who goes to a reasonable number of games and has NEVER seen us win.

My eldest son was 12 when we lost the to the Crows in 97. He has hardly been to a game since. {But I still get a membership for him}

:(
