All the people who are too busy getting on with life & making a difference don't have time for facebook pages anyhow.

But then, the Pentagon, the C.I.A, the N.S.A & the F.B.I aren't really all that intelligent to begin with anyhow.....Which makes their names somewhat ironic.

We really don't fully comprehend how exposed when using social media. Maybe even just posting on forums for that matter.

With a few clicks, I learned that about 500 advertisers — many that I had never heard of, like Bad Dad, a motorcycle parts store, and Space Jesus, an electronica band — had my contact information, which could include my email address, phone number and full name. Facebook also had my entire phone book, including the number to ring my apartment buzzer. The social network had even kept a permanent record of the roughly 100 people I had deleted from my friends list over the last 14 years, including my exes.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.....If it's plugged into the wall & the switch at the wall is on, then consider it 'live' would be my advice.

I have noticed in recent days, and other friends have noticed too - that all posts from family and friends now get deleted from your feed after one viewing, to be replaced under a new banner called "top posts from across Facebook" by a whole load sponsored commercial posts.

That kills it for me, if they delete my family and friends, what point is there left to Facebook?

Have been off facebook for 4 months. I enjoyed when back in the early years when it was just friends posts, pictures and check ins. I got fed up when I realised my entire feed was just bullshit videos and having to read w***ers comments on every news article. I actually made a post defending Aboriginals - a simple cut and paste of history on "Make Australia Grouse Again" page that again came up on my screen because some idiot friend liked it. My post which was reported, reviewed and removed from facebook for 7 days because it was deemed "racist". Literally a cut and copy off an Aboriginal history/wiki type page. That was the end of that shit for me.

I shared the results of a song quiz I got 10 out of 10 for. It was a quiz titled "I bet nobody born after 1972 would know all these songs" or some shit and I shared my results with the comment 'except me'.

Post got removed because it was spam apparently.

Family and friends (real ones) are one of the main reasons I deactivated my account. Some of the people I quite liked turned out to be narcissistic, boring twats. It was like one never ending slide night of boredom. "Here's a photo of me eating a sandwich" - "here's another of me doing absolutely nothing of interest". I was actually starting to troll people I previously held in high regard.

It was also starting to sour my opinion of women.

facebook has been kind of.. dead inside for a while. sure there is plenty of people on it, but it's really just a whole lot of people who get annoyed at other people for posting shit constantly, while they post shit constantly.

i have to use facebook and instagram for work (also use instagram and facebook for my own self-employment), and you soon realize what a luxury it is to have the time to take a photo or two at work. my own personal facebook page usage is almost non-existent, 2-3 status updates per year. i stopped sharing news articles ages ago, i take the approach that no-one is interested in what i might post, so if i'm going to do it it has to be fairly meaty and important instead of sharing about my last fart.

I got kicked off Facebook and they wouldn't tell me why. To even begin the conversation as to why they wanted me to "prove my identity" by sending them scans of my licence/passport etc. Yeah right.

If you have ever used Facey and have the app on your phone, it is listening to you 24/7 whether your phone is on or not

The internet and social media are two of the most destructive things ever introduced to the herd. Using them to spy on every single person that uses them was on the cards long before the internet was even opened up for public use, as it was invented and used by the military. Anything the military creates has a primary function as a weapon.
