Got Collingwood to a GF and very unlucky not to win, surely that's an upgrade on Dew.
I reckon he would be much better second time around.
We desperately need a reset. It's extremely obvious the players don't respond to him and he doesn't get the best out of them that’s a given.
Not so much I don’t want him.
I just feel he loves the Melbourne spotlight
Has business and media opportunity’s etc
He wasn’t interested in GWS last year why would he be interested in us.

They need a couple of years away to reset properly IMO.
I think it would be good timing. But it just an opinion.
What l do know is we have not and are not improving under Dew.

He is very happy in the media it seems BUT I really think he still has the hunger to coach again - at GWS he would have had a terrible cap issue, and no fans or culture to embrace.

We are different:

Lots of talent.

Excellent facilities

Growing fanbase esp in Vic

He would almost certainly be given 2 years grace to change stuff.

Immediate changes he would bring are:

Having a game plan

Ability to change in-game

Superior contacts in the industry

Ability to attract top-line assistants.

Ruthlessness.

Bucks would not be afraid of retention issues - he'd create a culture where it would be odd to NOT put the team first.

He would educate our dumber players - all of whom have skill.

He would cut / trade our yellow-bellies regardless of what pick they were.

He can coach on the fly.

He would bring discipline and pride to an outfit that often panders to the whims of players who simply don't deserve to wear the shirt.

He's a young 50.

He is a winner - the last thing on his bucket list would be to coach an AFL team to a flag.

The AFL would bend over backwards to make this happen.

I'd go so far as to say that if he came in next week - we would still be a silly shot at finals.

Dew needs to go before the bleeding becomes terminal.

Nathan Buckley - at least you'd want to make the call and ask?

As assistants I'd be thrilled with:

Scott Burns
Aaron Hamill
Tendai Mzungu

If we could get them!

Given how poorly Dew and the other selectors are - I thought I'd suggest a few not really radical changes to improve the team balance - and I know there are people in this thread who might agree. Dave Swallow - legend, champ etc BUT it's nearly time so I'd make him the almost permanent Sub - similar to what is being done with Heppell at Essendon. He can fill any spot and has the experience to change a game in short bursts. That frees us up to strat rotating Humphrey and Hollands through the mids and playing off HF. Might even allow Constable to be given a try at his 'actual' position where he racks up possessions. This will reduce the load on Miller, Anderson and Rowell while giving the kids some valuable experience. Put Powell and Weller on the HB flanks - drop Casboult back into defense to assist Collins and allow Ballard to play his best role as an interceptor. Put Chol back up forward with King and try and replicate last year's play. Put actual wingmen on the wing - Ellis and even maybe Jeremy Sharp for a last chance. I'd keep Jeffery as the forward pocket and drop Andrew, Rosas and Oea and also Long. Farrah on I/C with Sexton, Ainsworth and one other. I hate to say it but McPherson holds his spot for the moment! I feel better now and I'm not even a Coach. Jed Anderson in the wings with a few others who keep performing in the 2s is a good position to be in. Just have to be smarter with selection AND game plan. Let them run like everyone else is doing....

Rocket was completely cooked, can't believe they went with him. Caracella doesn't have the personality to be a senior coach.

I hate to say it, but Hinkley is a pretty good coach, has rebuilt port a few times, got them to multiple prelim finals. Definitely better than dew, has to be an experienced coach imo.

Chris Scott looks to be available
Prob headed to AFL house though

I'd be tempted to have a crack at someone like Beverage or Hardwick.

Premiership coaches, but both clubs aren't really performing any more. A fresh start might be good for all parties and having a coach that demands respect could do wonders for us.

If only Clarkson was available last year………oh wait

Hardwick out of contract at the end of the year, would be worth a crack for sure.

Cotchin, Reiwoldt, Martin all either hanging up the boots this year, or close to (I think Dusty has another year to go). Sure, they still have plenty of others, but those are the guys who were there from the start and built it all with him.

If there was a time for him to move on, this'd be it. I'd say that at the very least he wouldn't dismiss other offers out of hand.
