If you really think about it closely it wasn’t great preparation for a game of footy let alone a GF.
Mason Cox said on his podcast that he felt really horrendous after spending all that time in the sun during the grand final parade. Makes me think that optimising your recovery in the most low-key way possible would’ve been a better idea for grand final eve.

Thread needs a poll whether Ginni will still be on our list in 2025, you know it makes sense.

My prediction is a late second rounder.
I'll admit getting this very wrong.

Had Jack stayed with us for another year we'd have to give someone a second rounder to take him of our hands.

I reckon he is a good kid, but personally I wouldn’t be doing what he is doing in the off-season at his age, when he is still in that “making it” phase of his career.

He’s got great goal sense, and was deadly anywhere inside 50 in that first year. The goal from outside 50 on Anzac Day showed his range.

But that part of his game dropped off and obviously so did the free kicks. He still kept not standing up in tackles and wasn’t trying to get hands free for a quick dish off. It might be a hard habit to coach out of him. He needs to be trained with the midfielders for this reason.

As many have noted, the club is generally pretty spot on with ruthlessly getting rid of players. I think he will go on and be okay, but we wont look like fools for flicking him.

Premiership Pie forever and helped kick start this current wave. All the best

LOL, yeah, Ginny is going to make all the difference.
You missed my point. If you have ready my posts over the last 18 months you would know I'm not a Ginnivan fan

I am no way saying he will be the difference.

I am saying if for whatever reason, easy draw for Hawks, natural improvement or we have a shocker and they finish anywhere near us or above us then it's a terrible deal based on what we know so far.

Cleary very heartbroken by this. He was one of my favourites and I’m sad to see him go tbh but it is what it is. Good luck cheeky boy, you will be missed. Ps- please don’t have big games against us

Yeah I'm also devo by it loved watching him play, was the ultimate entertainer on field when on song.

It's interesting how many people love the dour robot types over him.

Wonder how Blake Hardwick feels
anyways will be interesting to see how players react to him when we play hawks

I'm not inclined to bag Ginnivan. Just another line on a page of a chapter in a big book about the business of football.

But I never saw him as 'entertaining'. His best football was good, but otherwise quite pedestrian.

Nothing exciting or unconventional at all.

Collingwood v Hawthorn next year will be even more spicy after our round 21 loss this year.

What's the odds in that game for Ginnis first possession to lead to a head high free kick - which he gets paid and he goals.

With less scrutiny on him and a diff colour jumper can see him getting a lot more of those non calls paid next year.

A swap of 2nds seems like a poor return
I was thinking the same was wondering if it was going to be like the ad, 'but that's not all'... . A pack of plastic knives is added.

That is an interesting take on the Ginni pigs time with us.
He is one of the more interesting and entertaining players the game has seen for a long time when in form imo

There’s an exchange of other picks included in the deal isn’t there? I guess we’ll know for sure when the paperwork gets lodged.

The ultimate entertainer on field is gilding the Ginni

Quirky kid who did some nice stuff and got the fans behind him

Be interesting to see how he goes from here. Huge amount of publicity in his career so far. At least he spent a bit of time in the VFL this year, which will prepare him for playing in front of small crowds.

I think the patience ran out. Fly obviously not happy with the races before the GF, then turning up to the Mad Monday celebrations in racing silks. Doing that looked like he was taking the p155 out of Fly's comment ""Read the room, Jack," after the GF.
I think Fly fell out of love with Ginnivan and you can only stretch someone's patience so far, considering the way the club and Fly backed Ginnivan in after his drug incident earlier this year.

With things like this, i reckon most of the reasons they want Ginnivan out happened behind closed doors
