Delisted Jack Mayo

If it had to happen, which you hope it never does, but if it has to happen then i suppose this fragmented, fractured and stuffed up year is the best year for it to happen...so long as the Saints have the mind to keep you, and please I hope they do, then you'll be back stronger and more fierce for the road scars. Its a long way to the top and I'm sure you're gonna rock and roll Jack...hang in there...'Hold the Mayo' just for now then give me the lot with Double when you come home to Moorabbin.

Young forward Jack Mayo will call Leederville Oval home once again in 2021 after his time at St Kilda came to an end.

The 21-year-old will bolster Subiaco’s forward stocks alongside gun ex-Fremantle recruit Brandon Matera.

Mayo spent one-and-a-half seasons on the Saints’ list after getting picked up in the 2019 mid-season rookie draft.

Mayo is a colts flag-winner at the Lions, who booted 50 majors during the 2018 season. He also appeared twice at league level the following year.

He will help cover the loss of triple premiership forward Rhys Waters who hung up the boots at season’s end.

The Carine product is still going through his ACL rehabilitation and is unlikely to return until the back-end of next year.

There are a couple of other de-listed St Kilda players who are a strong chance to return to the WAFL if they don’t get an AFL lifeline.

Forward Matthew Parker is likely to go back to South Fremantle, while utility Jonathon Marsh is tipped to play at East Fremantle if he doesn’t find a third AFL home.
