Today's pain is tomorrows gain. Someone has to finish last. The question should be where will we be in 4 years time and where will you be?

Somebody has to finish last in deed, but in modern era we managed to avoid it, thank God.
You haven't just finished last - your club was coached NOT to win anymore games. The players know it. Fans know it.

Until Melbourne realises that it's their culture that's hurting them, more than the lack of talent, they will be down there for a good while.

As far as where we wll be in 4 years, I'd be willng to bet that's we'd be above Melbourne.

Poor kid is trying all options available to him to avoid Melbourne FC. May not work for him though...

Hopefully it drops him back to 10. I haven't seen Scully play but most years Trengove would easily go number 1. Has been a star all year and will be lumping money on him for the rising star next season. Possibly the best footballer to come out of this state in some time.

If he doesn't join us then i hope he goes to Richmond, would rather see him kicking to Richo than Watts.

He probably thought that if he played too badly, he'd end up at North Melbourne.

Is that supposed to be funny? :D
Someone need to realise how much of a laughing stock of a club Melbourn is.

And your culture is so great, that your first two choices of coaches turned you down. Now that is culture. Wouldn't throw stones, especially when your club is strugling for supporters and money as well.

He won't be kicking to Watts any time soon. Apparently Melbourne have realised that it's best not to play Watts until he starts shaving, can lift more than 5kg in the gym and shows some more general signs of being a man.

Culture has nothing to do with money. Two coaches turned us down? That is rubbish and you know it. Buckley was given a contract at HIS club - no other club could trump that. And Longmire was never even interviewed by us. He has been at Sydney for years and will remain there. How is that turning us down?

You, on the other hand, have a coach that could not be selected by anyone else in the league - I struggle to see which coaching attributes your panel saw in him. He is a perfect VAFA coach or a teacher. NOT an AFL coach.

And I am not throwing stones. I am posting on the North board. You are the one who is lost in the "woods".

Didn't think this one through, did you?

Obviously not, and it's timely that I remind all visiting posters from other team boards to tread warily when fervently defending your club ON OUR BOARD! Cheers :thumbsu:

In my mind i see Melbourne rising off the bottom next year and then over the next 5 years dramatically increasing their presence on the ladder.

Draft picks + new stadium deal should help with this

That said to have played the way the have the last 4 years its going to be hard to get out of that loosing culture.

Personally i want Melbourne to improve out of sight in the next few and with it the quality of the entire game should improve.

It doesn't matter though cos the roos will be back in the 8 very shortly :D

Jack announced today that he wont be attending draft camp. Whether this will push his draft position back a bit is yet to be seen

Hopefully

He is not attending due to Grand Final, however is hoping his performances over the last month will catch the eye of the AFL clubs. Sturt have already conceded he will not be at the club next year. I hope he plays a blinder on the weekend and we see a repeat of 02, hoping to have a chat with him after the game.

In 4 years time we will be winning our 1 flag, but if things is going really good then we should be winning our 2nd. You guys will be doing ok by the sheer number of top draft picks but you guys lack the sheer toughness and competitiveness like us.

You telling me Dean Bailey was your first choice? Like out of all the people in the civilised world you chose him?????? And we have culture problems?

There are more professional and respected U12 sides than the Melbourne Football Club. Biggest joke in professional sport you are.

The kid is a gun.

Doesn't really have anything left to prove, missing draft camp shouldn't be a factor at all.

Reallistically, without any Crows bias, is he the kind of kid that would ask for a trade to a SA club in 2-3 years time or is he likely to settle in Melbourne?

I reckon if he ends up being picked by Melbourne, the chances are he will want to leave, without knowing anything about him.
