They traded 2017 first for pick 10 so still only giving GC one 1st. The other 1st went to Sydney and unless you trade one in you only get one a year!!

you are correct, I did count that twice.
still best case of a 1st rounder, a 2nd rounder and Hill (plus Mitchell gone) isn't exactly cheap.

Especially considering it's likely going to take something like at least Hartung ontop of all that to actually get GC to do a trade.

lol nah. we've simply put a concrete value to our 2017 first round pick. I dare say we offered that to GC but they were probably reluctant to deal with such uncertainties. So we dealt with St Kilda to eliminate that uncertainty.

yep, might be a power struggle over the next few days. At the moment hawks have it but lets see if GC can win it back.

I guess some people can say it's to do with a salary squeeze, some say it has to do with giving younger players games which is what I believe, some even say it is relative to freeing up even more cap space to make another move next year. Equivalent of pick 22 isn't really heaps. That will not even get you a Jed Anderson. Although apparently it will get you 4 Sam Mitchells, but given he wouldn't get a game at any club but Hawthorn - and even they don't want him - that probably isn't that much.
