I have been remiss in creating this thread. Had to count to 10 ... billion.

Welcome Jakey. If you can perform at your best, you may just help GWS win a flag!

Experienced forward Jake Stringer has become a GIANT on the final day of the 2024 Continental Tyres AFL Trade Period.

The GIANTS completed a trade with Essendon on Wednesday, sending pick 53 to the Bombers in exchange for the explosive forward.

Known for his explosive and dynamic playing style and goal-scoring ability, the 30-year-old has penned a two-year deal with the GIANTS which will take him into his 13th AFL season. Originally drafted to the Western Bulldogs via pick five in the 2012 AFL Draft, Stringer played 89 games for the ‘Dogs, including the 2016 Premiership, before joining the Bombers at the end of 2017 where he has since played 123 games.

Over the years, he has established himself as one of the league’s most electrifying forwards, capable of turning games with his agility and precision. Stringer played all 23 games for the Bombers in 2024, kicking 42 goals and ranking above average in disposals (12.7 per game) and marks (3.9), just shy of his career-best numbers. With 212 games experience, the 2015 All-Australian will bolster the GIANTS as they look to claim their maiden premiership.

GIANTS Executive General Manager of Football, Jason McCartney, welcomed Stringer to the club. “We are delighted to welcome Jake to the GIANTS,” McCartney said. “We identified Jake as someone that has the ability to be a match winner and after undergoing a thorough recruitment strategy, we believe he will add great value to our team. Having watched Jake’s career closely from the beginning, I’m very excited about his potential to thrive up here in Sydney in the GIANTS environment.”
