People are forgetting that we can trade our 2021 first round pick into the 2020 draft if we find someone willing to swap, and the discounts that will come into play. Plenty of ways to pull off getting Jamarra and others if they are rated somewhat highly.

The U17 futures game wasn't his best, played down back for a fair amount of it. Hollands, Thilthorpe and Jeffery all had better games up forward.
Hollands and Phillips the clear standouts IMO. Jamarra's kicking still needs work.

Was bizarre that he was played at half back after proving he’s the best key forward in the draft this year. Maybe it was a way to grow his game? Was pleading to see he has an opposite foot. And that he has the confidence to use it. Would have been easy for him if he just played out of the goal square all game. Glad to see him playing in other positions

Interesting to see certain posters make heavy use of the dislike button but aren't prepared to back up their opinions any further than that. Curious, indeed.
The dislike still adds to your total reactions received. Which if your into that narcissistic stuff is a good thing. LOL

Cry me a river mate, the grand final is played on the mcg because it’s the home of football and holds 100k. Get another stadium that holds the same amount, then you can talk about rotating it one day.
Stadium Australia held 110,000 in 2000...didn't hear any talk about the gf being held there then

But isn't it just about the # of ppl who attend....

This isn’t the thread for it. Paste my reply into a relevant thread about your chosen topic, as this thread is about JUH.

AFL want a packed house at the biggest ground they can. They want a spectacular show. It’s all about making AFL the biggest sport in Australia. No point having the game in a stadium not built for AFL.

Note: I don’t live in Melbourne but I have lived in both Melbourne and Sydney. Not born in either. Don’t want to live in either.

Lol we are a year out, anything can happen - the dogs will be fine. I remember in 2013 people were talking up Clem Smith as being the #1 pick in 2014. He ended up going pick #60 and played 7 games for Carlton...
Hell just last draft Green was supposed to go top 3 and slipped to 10.

I'll play along though, currently all of Hollands, Thilthorpe and Phillips are ahead of Jamara (and possibly more but let's put him at pick 4).

Pick 4 - JUH (2034 points)
Pick 25 - Stevens (756 points)
Pick 26 - Macpherson (729 points)
Total - 3,519 points

Lets say the dogs finish 7th (people have us 4-10 on the main board so I'm taking the average, personally I think/hope we will finish around 4-6)

Pick 12 - 1,268 points
Pick 30 - 629 points
Pick 48 - 302 points
Pick 66 - 80 points
= 2,279 points

We need about 1,240 points which is around pick 12-13.

While I wouldn't want to do it, our midfield is stacked with Bontempelli, Macrae, Dunkley, Hunter & B Smith (+ Libba, Wallis, Lipinski, McLean, West etc). I could easily see as trading our 2021 2nd rounder & a surplus/fringe midfielder to us (e.g. Wallis or McLean) for pick 13.

Yeah you’re not going to get pick 13 for pick 30-40 and a c grader

What you remember is the past, the future not yet happen.

i believe Stevens is in the open pool and not aligned to you guys, so you're looking at JUH (top 5) NGA and MacPherson (anywhere from 25-50) F/S if i had to guess, plus the 20-25% discount on Academy and F/S's.

either trade a 2021 pick for currency in 2020 or trade a player, you can also go into deficit like a couple of clubs did this year.

We traded our future second.

Also, the mids mentioned would likely get later picks but those picks are worth points too. No need to trade up for pick 13.

Correct Stevens isn’t attached to our NGA but I think Raak is.

You are forgetting the 20% discount - a bid on Jamarra at 4 would require 1627 points to match.
I don't think we would have any trouble scraping the points together without trading players.

Firstly we should be able to trade our first round pick back for a couple of second rounders.
Port for example have three 2nd round picks and two 3rds. I imagine they would be keen to move up.
Adelaide and GC also have two 2nd round picks.
Even two late second rounders when coupled with Adelaide and our third round picks would provide enough points for Jamarra.

As for Machpherson and Raak if we lack the points required for them we could trade forward our 2021 second and third rounders, or potentially just take the points deficit into the next draft.

That's not to say that we won't trade out players - It might be time for some of our peripheral mids who are in their prime to seek more opportunity anyway. I just don't think we will be forced to.

Muscles after a boxing/ gym session can be very misleading aha
You’re probably right. But the fact he’s weighing at least 85kgs now compared to weighing in this high 70s last year proves he’s bulked up considerably. He’s always relied on his athleticism in the contest. Now he has the strength to go with it will be exciting to watch.
