Best action sequence? Torture scene in Casino Royale was both funny and brutal

I also love the early Roger Moore films, my favourite era. The Dalton and Craig films are also great.

Against the grain, I actually think Quantum is the most underrated Bond film. It is highly re-watchable and has little to no fat which is unusual for a Bond film. I prefer it to Skyfall, I think Quantum was a very brave Bond film which was both a sequel and also did away with a lot of Bond clichés. The hate this film receives is ridiculous.

(Moonraker ruined Jaws IMO)

To an extent, yes. He started off as a very menacing villain in TSWLM, killing Fekkesh and the others in Egypt. Did he even kill anybody in Moonraker? Was never the same after the ruins scene. Damn Egyptian builders...

Having said that, I'd add Moonraker to my 'underrated' category. It gets a lot of hate because of the over-the-top storyline, but it did a lot right...

• Corinne's being killed by Drax's dogs. Chilling scene.
• Bond killing the sniper. Epic. "You missed, Mr. Bond" "Did I?"
• Dr. Goodhead. Imagine the round table discussions had to figure out Bond girls names.
• Drax's motivations were a lot better explained than, say, Stromberg's in TSWLM.
• I liked Jaws' motivations for turning good as well. It was kind of touching.
• Drax's death was pretty good, with a nice pun too. "Heart broken, Mr. Drax."
• "I think he's attempting re-entry, sir." God I loved old Q.

Interesting that so many people like Roger Moore as the best Bond. (Me too, as it happens). It is almost heretical in the media to pronounce anyone other than Connery as 'The Best' - but when you actually ask people, a lot of them prefer Moore or one of the others.

I'm not a true Bond-o-phile, but inevitably I've caught most of them over the years on TV.

That old chestnut.

Moore had some of Bond's most badass and cold-hearted scenes. Kicking Locque and his car off the cliff in For Your Eyes Only and knocking Sandor off his tie in The Spy Who Loved Me come to mind.

I disliked Golden Gun and Moonraker because they tried to incorporate other genres which were popular at the time -e.g. Enter The Dragon-style martial arts and Star Wars -type sci-fi

Live And Let Die did the same with blaxploitation but I quite liked it - I think it's one of the underrated ones

I grew up with Pierce Brosnan being Bond (Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, World is not Enough and Die Another Day formed big parts of my childhood). My next favourite Bond actors would be Daniel Craig and Timothy Dalton.

Casino Royale and Goldeneye the only ones I truly like. Hated quantum but it grew on me more the second time I watched ... Skyfall was garbage I thought
