Her: the players ... that's career ending for a number of players. How responsible are you for their position?

Him: ... its devastating for them I agree ... I have a level of responsibility, I should have known more, I should have done more when the opportunity came ... I can only apologise for that. I made decisions in real time that in hindsight I think were wrong ... the ones I've spoken to are ... very upset at what happened at the football club ... via text has spoken to Jobe who is very angry ...

Her: Does he feel let down by you?

Him: ... to a certain extent ... They should feel let down by me and I feel I have let them down ...

Her: What are your emotions?

Him: I feel guilty, sad, upset for the players. I don't feel like a victim myself ... the situation at the first instance is the EFC ... those mistakes were compounded by people in authority outside the Club ... I'm upset about procedural fairness, they were denied that the players.
 
People responsible so far-
- the Essendon football club
- the club doctor Bruce Reid for not making the program so safe or stopping Lovett Murray form taking his injection and for approving AOD9604.
- the AFL for denying procedural fairness and making it public and interfering with the ASADA investigation.
- Ian Robson for designing the club structure, for not acting on the letter Bruce Reid wrote and for not firing Dank and Robinson.
- Paul Hamilton for reporting to Ian Robson
- Dean Robinson and Stephen Dank for not always following the protocols that James ensured were put in place.
- Someone for not putting the supporting documentation on the firms.
- Liz Lucan for ridiculously saying that Hird should take responsibility (seriously what an absurd idea)

Him: That's the way Robson wanted it. He wanted Hamilton to report to Ian, and myself to report to Ian. Paul was responsible for the high performance unit.

Her: Reid ... had issues with the supplements program ... where did he fit into the structure?

Him: He reported to Robinson and had a direct line to Hamilton.

Her: How close is your relationship with Reid? Father/son?

Him: Bruce said to be two days ago, you're my son or my brother, or somewhere in-between.
