AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Don't see how people can condemn someone for violating someone's right to privacy by gathering on someone's front lawn when they are (at the same time) posting/commenting/speculating about it in on a public internet forum.
As much as I hate Hird, I hope he gets well soon. Terrible for his family.
'hate' is a little strong isnt it? What the hell has he done to deserve that? Acted in a way you disapprove of? I disliked Brereton as a player but I'd happily chat to him if I met him, irrespective of the tool he was as a player. As much as I hate Hird, I hope he gets well soon. Terrible for his family.
I can't help thinking that this whole episode is just as genuine and non-fabricated as Garry Lyon's mental health episode immediately after ******* his best mate's wife.
I have never understood why they do this. It's just so unnecessary.
Indeed, almost literal gutter journalism; standing on the lawn and in the gutter outside the home for a shot of the sad wife and kids really is as low as it gets in a journalism sense. There is no intrinsic value or anything to be gained from it.
I am not in the blame media generally camp, but this in particular to me is just mystifying.
LOL at saga. Like he was a support actor in a soap opera.'hate' is a little strong isnt it? What the hell has he done to deserve that? Acted in a way you disapprove of? I disliked Brereton as a player but I'd happily chat to him if I met him, irrespective of the tool he was as a player.
If he killed someone, or committed other offences against others I could imagine a reason for hate. But not for his part in a sports saga.
Probably after he took the title off Adam Goodes.
I wonder how Caroline Wilson reacted to the news?
I wonder if, she gave James Hird a second thought, while she was having her breakfast, and looks at her shelf, with her Walkleys that she won reporting about the Essendon saga.
First David Evans, and now James Hird, have had health problems because Caro and her ilk put the story first, and don't give a stuff about people's lives, jobs and consequences.
She has a personal vendetta against Hird, and made it her mission to get him sacked. Nothing less will do?
Do you think she is feeling any guilt this morning? Do you think it would prick her conscience? I doubt it, as I am convinced that a requirement to being employed in the media is having conscience removal surgery. Sports media is the haven of sociopaths.
If Hird had died, blood would be on the hands of Caro, Patrick Smith and Damian Barrett.
What a lot of crap. Caroline should not feel any guilt whatsoever. Hird, Dank etc initiated a program to cheat. Got caught and has to bear the consequences. Have half-hearted weaselly "apologies". No-one wants to see Hird dead, but let's not try and shift the blame to journalists who are just doing their job. The blame lies mostly with Dank (who apparently has water-tight evidence to clear the players, but won't release it) and Hird himself. I hope Hird recovers and leads a long life, but never has involvement at any level with the game I love (AFL).I wonder how Caroline Wilson reacted to the news?

Interesting response to that post considering trust, fitness staff and the magazine new idea were not mentioned once in it!Yeah was horrible of him to trust his fitness staff with their new idea. Just horrible
You should probably do less thinking then.I can't help thinking that this whole episode is just as genuine and non-fabricated as Garry Lyon's mental health episode immediately after ******* his best mate's wife.
If correct though, what a brilliant move. Play the "mental health" card and blame depression etc for the second chance draw.
Not at all suggesting this is correct, or even remotely true, however it seems to be the best way forward these days.
KOLOKOTRONIS
It's news. It's their job.
This will be my last comment in the topic, just for you so that you can get defensive at someone else instead. Did I say he said that? YOU are the one "making shit up". My point that seems to be lost (wasted) on you is that just because someone says he's sorry that something happened doesn't make it an apology, as I've shown with the statement which included "but I had nothing to do with it". I also haven't suggested that "it was all his fault".
Take your own advice champ.
What a ******* disgraceful comment. A man is rushed to hospital after reportedly wanting to end his life and you are calling the whole thing a fabrication. I hope for your sake you don't experience what Hird and his family are experiencing, and if you do hopefully someone shits on your face like you are to them. *******
Spike McVeigh reckons it was just Vitamin C.
Oooohhh news.com.au! Then it must be true!News.com.au reported 'poisoning overdose'.
he said HE only received the vitamins. He never said the entire program was only vitamins.Spike McVeigh reckons it was just Vitamin C.
charged in court? They were banned by a sporting body, they werent criminals. Yes, unfortunate, but nothing thats comes even close to warranting real hate. Not for me anyway. Maybe I'm more forgiving than most BF postersLOL at saga. Like he was a support actor in a soap opera.
He was a head honcho of a systematic doping program that ultimately ended in 34 industry professionals being charged in court, banned from practicing their craft and having their reputations tarnished.
But whatever helps you sleep at night.
off topic but I can recognise he was one of the greatest players as was Carey, Ablett and Cousins but it doesn't mean I respect them.He will never lose my respect as one of the greatest players to play the game, regardless of what has happened.
They were charged by the court of arbitration for sport.charged in court? They were banned by a sporting body, they werent criminals. Yes, unfortunate, but nothing thats comes even close to warranting real hate. Not for me anyway. Maybe I'm more forgiving than most BF posters
