Let's celebrate our Captain for making it to 250 games

Drafted in 2004 at pick 2

He tasted Success in 2008 kicking 75 goals for the year as the foil to Buddy

He's kicked over 70 goals in a season three times so far, he's won a Coleman medal and lead the Hawks goal kicking twice.

He's had his future questioned numerous times, first when he snapped his Achilles tendon, then again when serious illness struck and he was diagnosed with cancer not once but twice.

Along the way he's stayed that laid back country boy that everyone in the league loves

Swans on the other hand....

On Sunday he will become just the 14th player at Hawthorn to reach 250 games, and currently sits 6th on the Hawks all time for goals.

He's the last remaining member of the 2004 draft to still be playing for the club and a true Hawthorn Champion

So get down there Sunday if you can to see the great man hit the MCG for game number 250

Been an absolute privilege to watch his entire career.

I remember after his first 30-50 games I thought he had the talent for sure, but just lacked the belief that he could be a great, especially what his mates Franklin and Lewis were doing. But gee did he turn the corner. Just an all time favourite and hopeful for many many many years to come

I reckon he's gonna have a big one too. He has taken a while to get there this year (understandably!!) He was great last week

Prepared to be scared. Roughy is back
I thought to myself watching the Freo match that Roughy was starting to look like his old self. Took another step this last weekend. I think it's underestimated how much training he lost whilst receiving treatment. He has toughed it out, but I feel like it may be a few more games before he really starts to feel like his old self. When that happens...

I think Lewis is the one that stalled for a good few years, Once Roughead started hitting his stride he never stopped imo. Fixed his goal kicking issues and then some, became a good defender, a good midfielder, a great ruckman, indisputably the forward line leader over the threepeat, an amazing career. Won a coleman in a GF year, overcame an Achilles, kicked bags in prelims (the Port performance in particular was a critical moment in the 3 peat) and grand finals, kicked cancers ass and is still kicking game winners, became a captain, done it all. Of our champion players, Roughead is by far the most underrated.

Was worried the big fella may not make it back to his best early in the year. He has come back well and is on fire atm. Congrats Rough!

250 for the captain. Hodge out. I pity Richmond. The boys and the crowd will lift. Lambs to the slaughter for big Rough.

Has been getting better and better as each game goes on this year. He was all over the ground on Friday night against Sydney - he was absolutely everywhere. Saw him barking at a few players when they made errors also - anyone who doubted his leadership or the decision to make him captain is out of their mind. Was always going to take him a little bit of time to get on top of his role as both a player and captain this year due to the circumstances - but he is coming back to the peak of his powers as a player and growing more and more into the captaincy.

Great work on 250 you big red monster - can't wait to see you lifting our next cup.

He's lucky Plugger and Dunstall existed or he'd go down as one of the roughest heads of all time.

A champion and a Hawk through and through. Brown and Gold Legend.

Also Cloke - he's an odd looking human.
