Hi all....just thought I'd introduce our new player, Jesse White, who is to debut against North on Sunday. Few of you will have heard of him (what with all the "hype" around Nathan Brown and Ben Reid) but he's a KPP too...picked up late in the 2006 draft (around 79). He's a massive lump of lad 196 cm and 101 kg, hence his nickname "The Unit." All the best Jesse.

Also thought I'd mention the nickname of our other young KPP player, Ed Barlow. Although he is usually called "Cheese" on account of he's from Bega :D
I'd like to put in a plug for his other nickname "Fridge" ('Cos he's the White Goodes......:p :p :p :p )

Was a very good basketballer, played with him and against him, very athletic for his size. AFL was always his first choice and it looks like it was the right choice as well, good luck to him.

Personally know him, and his family, great bloke, absolute mountain of a guy, very suprised he went so late in the '06 draft, has all the attributes to be a top footballer, I think whether he wanted to play Footy or Basketball was one defining feature though, athletic, big, strong, has good skills, WILL BE A PLAYER!!!

Do you happen to know what his favourite position is? All the information i have is that he can play in the Ruck, Down back and up Forward when needed which isnt overally helpful.

He will be played mostly in the Ruck on Sunday, but his favourite position in in the Forward line, then again, whatever position he is asked to play he will put as much as he can into it, hopefully in time he can replace either Everitt in the Ruck or Hall down forward, or even Barry down back.

I don't know many Sydney fans who refer to him as The Unit. Lynch already has that and I don't want any reminder of that gorilla when I watch White play. The popular nicknames have been J-Dubb and MySpace.

Back on topic, though. I have really high hopes for this kid, it's been a while since a really big draftee debuted for Sydney, it'll be a nice change after the promising mid/rangey type players we've unleashed this season and last.

Don't expect fireworks from day one, but it shouldn't be too long before he's showing some authority on the field. Goodluck Dubb!!

Roos will probably play him as a mobile ruck in his first game or two and he'll drift fwd a lot. Roos prefers to give the fresh faces a tough opponent rather than ask for a "show us wot u got" game...means they rarely look great first up so dont expect too much.

Quietly confident he is a 100 gamer that slipped in the draft. ...at 196cm we need to be a little patient and not expect too much too soon.

Perfect stage of the season to introduce him

There was an article on Jesse in the HUN Sports section today, it had a photo of him and had a good amount written about him.
