i disagree, it means that the club is heading in the right direction, JJ is heart and soul of the club, 2 b&f and numerious top 5 places, came 7th this year after having a 'poor' year.
I was talking about Solly.

I never wanted JJ to go anywhere. I wish we offered him 2 years straight up and Solly 1 to piss Solly off even more.

JJ :thumbsu:

Solly

Good move all round by Essendon.

Put senior players on notice that nothing is assured - not even for a dual Crichton medalist like JJ. His season this year was unacceptable - even with injuries allowed. We needed to show that we were serious regarding contract renewals and have done so - if only the Bolton talks progress no further than "bye bye". Hope we can reach a reasonable deal for Solly - would be happy enough if he stayed but don't think he has that much left to offer the club.

I agree, that's fair enough. But it's a red mark on the club that such notice was not put on Solomon during the 2006 season. I thought the club had stated that senior players would have to perform to keep their spot, well, they didn't follow that through with Solomon.

GET THORNTON
What that a dual best and fairest and great clubman has half a poor year and is on notice, while a greedy squib for the scum walks into a two year deal, yet JJ gets whored around before getting a 2 year deal.

Yeah Campo should be held in mush higher esteem than JJ at Carlton, oh wait - we're at Essen:mad: don.

From memory, he was dropped for disciplinary reasons. Id call that being put on notice...

From memory, he missed 1 game for discipline and 1 for injury (also ommitted once then brought back in).

Therefore, he did not miss a single game due to his sub-standard efforts on field.

He should have been dropped and made to earn his spot back after good performances in the rezzies.

He missed a single game due to his sub standard performance...'off' the field

Thank God JJ stays a Bomber.
Just don;t know why Essendon took so long to offer him the deal.
I know they were offering him as bait but seriously why would we want to get rid of him?
