Not sure if many of you would have listened to this as it was on during the Hawtorn game on the weekend but here's the list. No real suprises at the top, Nirvana will always win this poll, but a great poll anyway. I was worried that current JJJ listeners would raid this and it would be dominated by newer and australian artists but my faith has been restored in JJJ. I had this on in the backround while watching the game yesterday and by the time they got to number 1 the anger from the game had subsided. Great poll can't wait for Rage to play all the clips (on August 8)

A pretty good list, generally number 1 and number 6 are usually number 1 and 2 on most music lists.

In past JJJ polls Nirvana is always 1 with Joy Division ans Hunters and Collectors usually in the next couple. Most of the time older stuff like Led Zep, The Beatles and Queen have been well down the list but its good that they are getting higher up now. Maybe JJJ listeners are growing their musical taste and not just voting for Powderfinger everytime

Queen above Led Zep *cough*

The YOOF have spoken. Overall not a bad list but there are some notable omissions when it comes to musicians who have been massive influences on the alternative music scene.

It's disappointing that there is are no Neil Young, Iggy Pop/Stooges, Ramones, Lou Reed/Velvet Underground or Black Sabbath tracks but it is heartening to see AC/DC, Led Zep, The Stones, Hendrix, Bowie and Dylan cracking the list.

"Best songs of the last 15 years, with a few older ones for credibility" would be a better name for the list.

Any list where The Beatles is not in the top 10 is an absolute joke. How can a list where the Hilltop Hoods are higher than The Beatles have an credibility at all? Nothing that they have done is better than anything the Beatles did. Nick Cave better than Neil Young? Silverchair better than AC/DC? Massive Attack better than Bob Dylan? Augie March better than the Rolling Stones??

Less credibility than a Carro article!!!

(On a good note, great to see BF's own Timmy Rogers getting there with Berlin Chair :thumbsu:)

I would have thought Jeremy by Pearl Jam would have been in there. A better song than Better man IMHO.

I'm with you on this one DarwinRoo! I voted for Jeremy, great track! :thumbsu:
Pretty good list really, good mix, love Hurt by Johnny Cash. Staggered that One by U2 never made it, in fact no U2????

HAHAHAHHAA AHAHAhAhahAhahhhghghgahgahgahgAhGAhAGhaGhaghgahaghaghghaghahahahghhHAHAHAHAHAHAH HILL Top hoods in the top 20 HAHAHAHHAHAhHAhahhahahHahhAhhHhAHhhHhah

wtF?????

actually Hilltop hoods in the top 1,000,000 is more odd.....

what a shit poll... just lost any credibility.

There are at least 2 better songs than Under The Bridge on BSSM.

Of course, but not unlike the comment made by DR about Pearl Jam's 'Betterman', these were the commercially viable hits from both artists. Considering that the majority of the people that are likely to have voted wouldn't seem out of place in front of a covers band at the Hallam Hotel, it's barely a surprise. There are about five songs in the top ten that were guarantees to be there, with 'Teen Spirit' a pre-poll guarantee. The one that did surprise me though was 'Blister In The Sun' which I recall topped a similar poll MMM did a few years back. Surely too low.

The poll does show however how lasting an album like Jeff Buckley's 'Grace' is. Is Hallelujah the best track of the bunch though or have most voted that in because it has almost been covered on a yearly basis since Buckley popularised it.

There are a couple of bands I'm stoked to see on there, some, I can take or leave.

But thems polls for you.

Hear, hear!

Well it was the biggest song of last year and was number one in last years hottest 100..
But I would have On Call by KoL in there before Sex on Fire..

The only list of all time that Sex on Fire belongs on is the 100 Shittest of All Time.
