Still no TMac. Lonergan not picked. Leslie, Schoenfield and Grant a bit of a surprise.
why no Lonergan?

why no Lonergan?

Dunno. Either he has picked up a niggle or he has not impressed Rocket as much as some of the others maybe.

Our midfield group for the match looks like being: Hall, Miller, Sexton, Barlow, Brodie, with all of Ablett, Swallow, Hanley, Lyons, Rosa and possibly Jacky Martin rotating through, so we have a fair bit of cover and not a lot of midfield minutes left for another inside mid.

Will be interesting to see where our team excels tomorrow and where we fall short. We will have to convert a hell of a lot more inside fwd 50's than our previous JLT's and also curious to see if we have enough experience in the backline trying to stop the Doggies.

The midfield should be sweet. Will be a ripper test.

Ran into Alex Sexton this morning and was told every player in the squad has been given 6 Key areas to work on for this weekend, His included Kick Effiency inside 50, Keeping his Shape in Defense and intercept marking.

Mentioned the winning culture and the fact that all midfielders must have a resting position. I noticed Lonergan was trialed forward a bit in JLT 2 for not much success. This could explain his absence

From the AFL website...
The Suns did not consider Brandon Matera (eye)
Funny because when I watch him out there, it is my eyes that get injured. :p I kid of course. Hope hes alright.

But cheers for that. Was a bit perplexing as to why he wasn't even in the 27. I wonder how this will effect his chances for round 1 now? Will have to put in a big one in the NEAFL game.

Why is Trent still not in the team, is this an injury we don't know about or just 'horses for courses'.?
Was he having a coffee with Dangerfield's missus?o_O

Also TMac is still in the rehab group
That would explain it, on the upside; good that Leslie is given another go there because he has shown glimpses.

Going to be a ripper game, looking forward to the match ups (mids in particular), the fwd and defence lines looked stacked.

Doggies don't seem to have a 'traditional' ruck apart from 1st season player Tim English, so our rucks should be really effective.

The Suns did not consider selecting Sean Lemmens (hamstring), Jesse Lonergan (quad), Brandon Matera (eye) or Trent McKenzie (calf)
