more so than all the guys over the years who won on a countback years down the track?

But those countback rules were know in advance, and when the additional medals were awarded later it meant that more medals were given out, no one lost one. I'd say that was more like deciding to award Cotchin and Mitchell the medal alongside Watson. Mitchell at last seems a bit sheepish about the idea http://www.afl.com.au/news/2013-07-15/no-handmedown

Wonder if management had anything similar to say about the banner today?

I'm sure some of the players partners & families didn't appreciate it as it would appear the club doesn't care what's injected into their players.

"Whatever it takes"

Me I found it quite cheeky, Arrow aimed for Caro?

Of course the irony is hilarious that their players were actually given some left over drugs from Mexico. How stupid are they?

Anyone see Hirds press conference today. He said the players were glad they had been cleared on tuesday and that it would sink in over the next week or so which should be an improvement in performance.

I couldn't believe I heard thosenwordsmcome from his mouth.

Yes he is really pushing it.

He is really pinning his hopes on nothing coming out.

Jobe is a mere pawn in an increasingly out of control game that the EFC is playing. Essendon is well aware of Jobe's lack of intellect and they're using it to their advantage. He's one easily manipulated man.

Trying to antagonize ASADA.

Unbelievable comments. They players have not been cleared at all.

Saying it does not make it real Hirdy.

lol yep their lawyer got fairfax to write a retraction and then they had to retract the retraction when the lawyer said his information may have been wrong. Couldn't make this stuff up!

He didn't say his information may have been wrong. He admitted that his information was wrong. whoops

It's the ol' George Bush strategy - what do you do when you've lost? Act like you've won and hope enough people buy it. And hey, he got the presidency through with that, Hirdy may just be on to something...

Seriously though, if he thinks he's helping the players by comments like that he's deluded.

Hopefully ASADA or Vlad will slap Hird down in no uncertain terms over that comment.

I believe the club released a statement saying it was from New Mexico, because its not as bad if it comes from the USA

And then it was retracted.

Today, Fairfax Media published comments that Essendon lawyer Tony Hargreaves made on Thursday and which challenged earlier reports that some players had been given an unknown supplement sourced in Mexico from a man with a muscle wasting disease.
Mr Hargreaves said he had made his Thursday comments after he had spoken to the patient in question and had been told that supplements were sourced from a neurosurgeon in the United States.
But this afternoon, Mr Hargreaves said he had received fresh information today.
"The information I based the request for a retraction on was based on a conversation I had [with a party closely involved in this matter] on Thursday. Since that time, further information has arrived that cast some doubt on whether what I was told was accurate.’’
Fairfax Media has confirmed that evidence gathered by investigators and referred to in the AFL-ASADA report states that the patient told ASADA that he had purchased supplements in both Mexico and over the border.
The evidence gathered to date also confirms that some players were given supplements suspected to have been sourced from Mexico.
A source closely involved in the drugs scandal today questioned why Essendon had sought to publicly challenge the original story rather than confront the real issue it raised: the fact that players had been given a supplement whose contents was, and remains, unknown.
