Jobe Watson arguably played one of the best games i have ever seen, his kicking surprisingly was spot on.

He done everything you would want from a captain.

Even when he rested up forward he was prominent with 3 assists (correct me if im wrong) and kicking 2.2 himself.

Obviously there were many many players who played great but had to single out Watson.

:D Massive game from Watson. Simply awesome.

Finals looks a strong possibility if we can keep this up.

Cant see any changes for next week. Keep this side on the park I say.
Very very happy.

Watson: orly?

Could win a Brownlow if he plays like that every week.

GUN

Would love to see that. Considering he was regarded as the clanger king when when he first started, the way he has improved is a credit to him. And he's done it through hard work and staying focused in a team that hasn't been travelling too well.

Nothing but respect for him and he's the perfect captain imo.

Davey will definitely be squeezed in and Howlet might be sore.

Howlett had a lot of ice around his knee (I think just under) and was noticeably limping as they were handing out footballs before they came off. Think he'll struggle to get up.

Watson was magnificent, as he just about always is. The whole kicking knock on him is a bit of a myth these days I reckon, he's as good or better than most and his decision making is really good.

Has turned from "our best player" to an elite player. His work in the forward line today proved that. Every side has a clearance king (ala, Jobe from 2007-2008), however his kicking is now first class, and he is versatile. As said previously, the perfect captain, an example for all to follow, just like his old man, and his coach were!

Watson is one of the very few players in the AFL that is "creative" by hand. He doesn't just handball for the sake of handballing; his handballs generally are to advantage and set us on our way.

Can't comment on the game yesterday, still haven't seen it :(. Hope to see a replay sometime this week.

His decision making in traffic is incredible. When he passes it he rarely uses the worse option, and unlike some (McVeigh, Myers...) rarely gets caught when he takes his time to think it through.

While we are giving our captain a well deserved toast for a super game i want to give a toast to the man who helped make it happen.

Heath Hocking
27 disposals
13 contested possessions
11 clearances
7 tackles
And all of that in 76% game time.

It was his inside role that allowed us the luxury of Jobe playing a little more outside and forward.
While Jobe was the best it was the work of the other mids lead by Hocking that allowed Jobe to dominate without having to be under every pack winning the ball.:thumbsu:

Well said. Probably just goes to show, that you need some support and assistance to get recognised as elite. Same thing happened with Swan at Collingwood. People started talking him up as a Brownlow chance once Pendlebury and Thomas and a few others emerged.

im glad we stuck with him through the early stages of his career when his disposal was questionable.

happy we've got a great leader and on baller like him.

I gave Hocking 4 votes - 2nd best player.

Impressed with his clearance work - and his negating role on Griffin - This part of his game has been overlooked.
