Jock is my most hated word. I suppose it depends on each individuals definition of a jock but me and my mates were called referred to as jocks at during our high school years and usually by people who were for some reason jealous of our social standing/sporting ability or something like that. Always thought that people who use that word have a bit of a chip on their shoulder. That is not having a go at you BB because you might use the word differently to the people I know. Generally sporting environments bring out the sort of behaviour your talking about though.
Apart from the pathetic small penis behaviour, this is a prime example why people don't like jocks. They/you are arrogant. So much so that the reason why you're not liked flies over your head and you put it down to envy/jealousy.

ps I was good at sport at school and hung in the cool group. On the periphery of our group were some jocks. Tossers with tosspot behaviour such as play fighting whenever girls are around etc. Plenty of testosterone, not much upstairs.

I knew knobends existed in this country but wasn't aware that jocks existed. Actually, I went to a school that had a union team and they were mostly jocks. Just havn't seen them around for a long time.

Was in Melbourne on the Thurs night before the granny. Was at a pub in the city where they had TFS on a big screen. Pub was full of Eagle supporters.

There were 4 guys seated at a table not far from where I was. They were drinking and carrying on like jocks. Not just back slapping and high fives, but really strong and robust high fiving. Absolutely smashing each others palms into each other and doing the "ooh ooh ohh" shyte. I bet these guys would have been walking around and bashing their heads into lockers when they were at school. And lucky the pub was serving pots - had they been serving cans I'm sure these guys would have been crushing them on their foreheads when finished.

Where do these people come from? Anyone else had any similar experiences?
SOunds like someone got bashed at school by jocks, get over it you ****ing geek.

So you think that sort of behaviour is cool? Pump you up? Do you often play fight with your friends in front of girls so they can see how macho you are?

You da macho man, yeah, you da macho man.

Didn't say it was cool, but how is it your right to judge how a group of people act?

Didn't know it was wrong for a group of men to be pumped up for the biggest AFL game of the year abd show some emotion. Seriously get of your high horse and understand that society has many social groups and behaviours, you have no right to think that you are superior to any of them.

There are ****ers everywhere mate. I know "jocks" that are good at sport and are tossers. I know wigga stoners that are ****heads, and I know "smart" yet arrogant tossers aswell. My advice to you, get over it.

Meh I've known good jocks and I've known arseh*le jocks.

The other thing that changes your opinion on em is whether they accept you or not. If you're preety they'll be nice to you even if you're not in the popular group of girls.

If you're reasonably good looking but a little different and they think your still 'hot' then they'll be absolute bastards and find your weakness and stir the crap out of you. Thats when you do what someone else already suggested and call em '****ers'. Hurts them preety bad! See, I was the reasonably good looking chick with too much attitude. I had boys who drew penises and put them on my locker and all over my text books and school diarys. Boys who threw basketballs at my head just to see me catch the ball as it hurtled towards me and then take out a pair of scissors and burst it rendering it useless. Boys who made woof whistle sounds whenever I walked into the classroom and made 'roooooooooooow' noises whenever I 'fanged' someone in class. Boys who used to throw water all over me when we were in summer uniforms for obvious reasons (our uniforms were alot of white!)

All of those boys were jocks, all of them were assholes but I wouldnt have lived a day without em. I grew up with em, was at school with these types from the age of 5. If I can handle them I can handle any jerk that heads my way. Their little boys in big boys clothing and body, treat them as such and they get embaressed and run away or they love you and then even when they crash their car and get done for DUI and hit some random at the races you still cant get em to leave cause they love you too much. :D

I dont particularly see playing sport or being popular as being desireable things I only used the jealousy line because when people make up their mind that you are a jock and they dont like you without even knowing you then that is about the only thing you can put it down to. Like I said most people who use the word have a massive chip on there shoulder. We certainly wernt the stereo typical jocks that you referred to but we still copped it.

We used to get groups of people rocking up to our parties to tear the place apart for no other reason than the fact that we played sport identified us as jocks.

BTW fighting between boys is just a natural sign of affection (couldn't think of a less gay term).

You absolute bell end. Just what do you think you're doing right now? That escape you? While you're looking up "ironic" in the dictionary try to stop dribbling from your mouth.

Didn't know it was wrong for a group of men to be pumped up for the biggest AFL game of the year abd show some emotion.
I was pumped up. Wasn't smashing my fist into my buddy, flexing my muscles, and going "ooh ooh ohh".

So it was Gardiner who gave you the "booty call"? :D

You seem to be getting "good at sport and popular" mixed up with "jock". Whilst ceretainly not mutually exclusive, they aren't the same thing.

Some other people seem to be getting "good at sport and popular" mixed up with "bully". Also not necessarily the same thing.

But when you see guys crashing into each other and doing the "ooh ooh ohh" routine you don't have to know them personally to know they're complete knobends.

Like I said most people who use the word have a massive chip on there shoulder. We certainly wernt the stereo typical jocks that you referred to but we still copped it.
Do you not see the irony?

We used to get groups of people rocking up to our parties to tear the place apart for no other reason than the fact that we played sport identified us as jocks.
Delusional. Do you really think it's that simple?

BTW fighting between boys is just a natural sign of affection (couldn't think of a less gay term).
Actually it's an embarassingly transparent way of showing girls how "tough" you are. Notice intelligent people don't do it? They know it looks stupid, childish, and try hardish.

Depends, I didn't like play fighting in frotn of girls, as you siad, it's pretty goofy. But whenever me and my mates used to get drunk we'd have a bit of fight club action, basically every firday night we'd don the boxing gloves and helmets and proceed to punch crap out of eachother. Broken noses for all!

*** NERD ALERT ***

Im guessing Bunsen was the kind of 'guy' in school that wore Star Wars shirts to casual dress days, was never let out after 9:00, and the only female he had any sort of interactions with was the 86 y.o librarian - on a regular basis.

'Lets get him boys' ...

So you're saying he got more action than me then?

If you consider hiring and returning books 'action', then im guessing he got more action than this whole board put together

That's a bit different. But they play fighting only when girls are around is really transparent and embarassing.

I don't think bunsen would have been a nerd. He isn't overly cool either (trust me I know cool, I am the coolest person on the web, and probably in the world).

He is just a relatively intelligent guy, who I would wager is quote happy with himself, who rates his own opinion too highly. Nothing wrong with that.

Can I assume you think that stuff is pretty cool behaviour?

Mostly correct except the rating things to highly.:)

And truth be known, as far from a nerd as you could have got.

yeah, same here, i used to hang out in a group of guys, probably about 15 of us, we all played footy and sports and go outside and stuff, and basically just emos call you jocks, like they're trying to insult you, but its a really really gay call, because emos hate jocks for some reason, not that i would have considered us jocks.
