This seems right. Longmire has one year left and if North are gonna offer him huge money and a long-term deal, it gives him excellent leverage to get the Swans to up their offer to retain him.

Longmire is in such a strong bargaining position right now. He's got two teams who want him badly, both of which he has very close emotional ties to and would likely be happy at, and both of which are likely to offer him excellent terms on his next contract. Couldn't get much better for him.

IMO we are in the strong position, he is contracted for 2020 & we can easily delay contract talks until the end of the year.

I'm positive there would be some sort of get out clause in his contract if he wanted to use it. Most likely it would involve him not being paid the remainder of money owed to him. But considering the size of the contract he is being offered I'm sure that doesn't bother him in the slightest. Ross left St Kilda while in contract. If he wants out he will get out

if the club wanted him they would extend his contract now

hes on the high of a recent win

lets see the next few months

i think some at the club still want him out

some in the media act like this is barrasi, smith, sheedy, malthouse, parkin, clarkson type coach.

do the swans want him badly?

The way Pridham spoke i would say yes.

sydney just want to at least make life tough for north.

pridham says a lot of things, if its such a priority then sign horse now , no rule against it
Remember when he apologised to eddie for example

Some interesting info I heard the other day which horse will surely have to take into consideration.

Now take this with a first full of salt because it's one of those "heard it from a mate who's Mrs works with the second cousin of joe blow" situations

Apparently north being moved to Tassie is done. But they have to wait until the hawks-Tassie deal is finished. Will likely get a bunch of concessions from the afl including draft picks, extra salary cap etc.

Horse would surely have to think about weather or not he wants to move to Tassie in a couple of years if true.

His not quite at that level, but his comfortably on the next rung down.

Personally after a slow start to the year I think he has really turned things around. Plus I think he is fantastic at developing our younger talent.

Not happening. Not only have North literally just agreed on a redevelopment on at Arden street but Fencing Victoria have a lease on part of the venue until 2032 (And I know this as fact).

Which players did he develop

We have some young kids now look good yes but the ones Longmire won with were Roos players or traded in

The one player he could of developed went to hawthorn

He’s had advantages most coaches would dream of

Well right now we have Aliir, Llyod, Rampe, Parker, Hewitt and a fair few others who were all latish picks that would have been developed by Longmire.

Parker, Rampe, Jones, Lloyd, Aliir, Papley, Heeney, Hewett, Mills, Cunningham. None I’d call ‘kids’. They’re established, clearly AFL-calibre players who’ve played their whole careers under Longmire.

But all our players that became dramatically better under Longmires coaching (Kennedy, Grundy, Richards, Smith, Jack, Hannebery, Jetta, Pyke, Reid) ... he didn’t develop?

They just got good because of the short time they’d spent under Roos?

He's using this to get more money out of the Swans , as he hasn't ruled himself out . All others like Clarko have said no , he hasn't.
I hope we are secretly approaching other suitors then. Because I'd say he would have to take the North offer. I don't think we can match it.

I'm amazed they have enough money to throw at Longmire as well as redeveloping Arden St. Their Tassie arrangement must be paying off for them.

I just hope the redevelopment includes funding for thicker walls, as another poster said, that place leaks like a sieve.

Funnily enough I fence there two times a week and have never seen a leak there.

Now how many times the water fountain has broken there? Can't even begin to count.

North have actually had a surprising amount of donations over the last few years towards Arden street, I also think the Government are paying a hefty amount towards the renovation as Arden st is used as a public place.
