Don't worry Neo, I'm sure we'll get access to it via the wonderful world of bootleg. I wonder censors realise thier efforts are so easily bypassed that cutting it in the first place is such a worthless action.

the OFLC don't cut/edit films... movie studios do. They only give the film a rating & Rambo will get at least a MA15+ rating & if the aussie movie distributor don't like the rating they get they cut/edit the film to get a lower rating. I doubt that it would be banned as usually only films involving graphic sex are banned.... check out this website for further information about movies that have been cut/edited etc.

Wohooo out next week. Given the R+18 rating for High Level Violence. Not suprised but it's just the way i like my action movies to be.

Viva La Rambo!

No shit?

Thought they might have put in a different edit to get MA, remember they did the same with Three Kings. MA at the Cinema, R on DVD.

Watched Rambo III for the first time the other day, 2.5 kills per minute. :D

one of the most violent films you will ever see and honestly I didn't really think those people deserved to be saved. They hold nothing back in the violence stakes. Bloodier than Saving Private Ryan. Rapes, tortures, genocides, and even the kids get it.

On another note Sly could have phoned this one in. His emotional range is equivalent to a plank of wood and he must say all of half a dozen words during the whole thing. Usually followed by long drawn out stares at the sunset or something just ahead.

Then the ending....laughable really. John learnt a lesson from all of that violence. Someone needs to give me some reader notes because I sure as hell didn't get the message he got. My message was this is what happens when do gooder religious people poke their noses in where it isn't wanted.

But anyway can't say anymore or else I will give too much away.

This movie takes the term "Mindless Violence" to another plane where the minds are even emptier.

Hahah, whats to give away. I haven't seen it, but let me guess

-Rambo trys to live peaceful existence, probably helping out some monks or something
-Do gooders try to get him to help them
-He says "I don't do that any more"
-Do gooders go it alone, land in the shit
-Rambo goes in to save them
-Kills a heap of guys, in variously gruesome ways
-Saves some of the do gooders, maybe gets a chick
-Trys to live peacefully somewhere else...till the next time

I'll still pay 15 bucks to see it tho:D

haven't seen it yet, but i kind of know what i'm in for just looking at the trailor. That part where he hops onto the back of the jeep and uses some sort of mini gun on a holster to blast the people sitting in the front at close range, with body parts flying everywhere, gives you a good indication of whats in store. Looking forward to it:thumbsu:

Close but no cigar - he doesn't get the chick :(

Super violent though - heads being decapitated by machine guns - actually everything being decapitated by machineguns - couple of nice arrows through the face scenes - and bodies being blown apart by mines - was laughing all the way through it - it was that bad / good with a classic deboweling scene at the end - enjoy :thumbsu:

Sweet :D

I want to see this.

On TV1 on Saturday they had "Rampage" so I watched First Blood & First Blood Part II. Awesome stuff even if I did look for subtitles at a few stages (and no, not when the locals were chatting to each other in 'Nam). Just a whole stack of action and violence, it's great to see. Not every movie has to have a message about politics or some other soppy arty crap.

Sounds like music to my ears (well not the rapes).

Just watched it tonight. All i gotta say is ****ING A!!! What a bloody awesome action movie!! And i mean Bloody.

It's an action movie junkie's wet dream.

Saw it last night too;)

All i can say is, i went expecting a Rambo movie, and i got a Rambo movie...in spades. And thats not a bad thing.

It'd be interesting to have a look inside the makers heads when they made this.

Filmmaker 1 - You know, giving Rambo an M60 in the other films was pretty cool, he killed a lot of guys with that and it looked pretty awesome.
Filmmaker 2 - Yeah. Although kids these days are pretty hard to shock, we'll really need to kick it up a notch in this film to get the same reaction.
Filmmaker 1- True. Hey, you know that scene in Saving Private Ryan? Where the nazi's used that massive gun that like......blew people up into plumes of blood and guts.... Lets do something like that.
Filmmaker 2 - (Excited) Awesome! Yeah, But instead of just killing half a dozen guys, we can set it up so Rambo mows down an entire Brigade of bad guys.
Filmmaker 1 - Sweet! Hey, we can also give one of his buddies a massive Barrett 50 cal sniper rifle, so he can blow a few guys heads clean off
Filmmaker 2 - I like the way you think!

Heh, its a good man movie.

How Bloody awesome is the Mounted 50 Cal Machine gun and the other dudes Barrett M107? Some serious Damage on those things, not to mention the Tallboy bomb!

****ing awesome movie. Gonna watch it again soon.

Are these the same guys who make Saw?:p

Great movie. More on par with the first movie then the later two. Not over the top action. Got to give credit to man, he still knows how to kick ass. Last 30 minutes are some of the best action scenes done on film.

Sums it up nicely for me. Saw it last night and is probably my favourite of the 4. In all seriousness, this film should have been a candidate for an academy award for the special effects (except the bomb). Very impressive stuff.

It can't be all bad if it help brings a bit more attention to what's happening in Burma as well. Where's Uncle Sam and his cries of democracy now for Burma?
