I think that they should have gave us Miller for him, or in other words- a straight swap. Miller could play CHB and CHF like many players we have (e.g. Lynch, Staker, Beeck  ). But the deals done and that's that. :)

Yes Brad Miller, one of the best and most promising CHF's in the league for a player who did absoluty nothing with his time at the eagles!!!!! Im quite happy with pick 29, i love paul johnson but he was never gonna make it as he is too far behind mcdougall, staker, hansen and co.

Good trade eagles!

Didn't we draft this kid with a pick in the low 20's about 2 years ago.

We spend all this time developing him and now we're gonna give him to Melbourne for about the same.

I don't think we are having the best trade period of all time, but as long as we don't mess up big and send a star away for nothing, it should all be irrelevent.

Bring on 2005 (and the end of trade week).!

Happy to trade Johnson
Was always going to be behind Doogs, Hansen, Staker and co
I also have doubts as to whether he can become a consistent afl player
good luck to him tho - and pick 29 gets us back into the draft

on the contrary, this trade period is shaping up as not too bad at all. Yes, we did draft him in early 20's(24 i think) 2 years ago, but he was supposed to be a top 10 pick. As it has transpired he isn't going to be any good for us so we may as well cut our losses and get someone else who we can work on, whilst giving him the chance to try his luck elsewhere. We already have morton who would have been top 10, we dont need to be getting ready made players this draft so 2 second rounders(which we should have by tomorrow's end) should be GREAT, whilst having gotten rid of a few players who either just dont want to play for us or who cant crack the 22. Im feeling quite positive about it all.

yeah pretty happy with that. He was gonna be delisted anyway, cause he wanted to go back to Melbourne.

Johnson for Miller was never gonna happen. Miller has shown talent. Johnson has just shown injury.

Johnson was taken at 24. He's now 2 years older, and hasn't shown anything really at all (even in WAFL level) so to get pick 29 for him, is pretty decent. Couldn't have expected much more.

pick 29 is a good deal considering i thought we would get nothing.

Putting on my Black Ducks beanie, the Duckies are happy to be rid of Johnson.

What were the Dees thinking?.

Good deal for the Eagles, although do we know if the draft quality goes very far down the list this year?.

apparently from pick 10 to 35 there really isnt that much difference in talent, however that talent is not as strong as previous years. So we could snatch a future superstar with pick 29 or pick up a long term bust.

i think he will play better at the dees as he will be in his comfort zone in vic but he lacks mobility for a key forward, will be used as ruckman at the dees.
