Just a reminder not to cross the line, BF does have rules we all abide by regarding mental health issues and unacceptable comments and jokes. Feel free to discuss any topic reasonably but please think before you post.
And please stick to the topic only.
Thanks.

You are avoiding the question and issue though.

Are Paton's actions responsible? Would you be happy for your direct family to receive unsolicited penis pictures?
I'm not happy with someone I don't know getting treated like this.
I also know that this is common for women to experience and it doesn't have to be a footballer in the other end of the phone

I bet there’s a lot of nervous footballers out there at the moment. Can’t be the only one and usually there is a pile on nature about this sort of stuff once one or two come out.
It's common throughout society unfortunately

Damian Barrett’s Sliding Doors says...

IF the girls hated receiving the unsolicited dick pics from Patton back then, THEN they would be absolutely loving outing him for it now.

I'd laugh it off and feel sorry for the bloke. Beauty is that you can block these callers now.

If he laid an unwanted hand on my daughter though. Well.....

Cannot believe how common this is amongst younger men these days, was talking to a female friend who is back onto the Tinder scene and she told me she gets dick pics all the time from guys who want to date her. Seriously WTF are they thinking? She led me to believe that many men think this is normal behaviour these days. I just don't get it but maybe I'm getting old!
What happened to a mix tape?!

Would the repeated unsolicited dick pics and videos to multiple women be classed as sexual assault? Would certainly come under sexual harassment.
It’d be interesting. How is okay to send these pictures to people who quite clearly not want them, but not okay to expose yourself to someone in public? To me they’re much the same.

Feel sorry for Patton, probably developed this habit whilst stuck in bed with all the knee recos, not like the could get out and about, lot of spare time and he has needs like all young men.

As a person who grew up before this shit was invented I just do not get it. But then again some people like getting under glass coffee tables so each to their own.

I'm 100% certain some girls would think it's an attractive thing to do and 100% some girls lie about finding it disgusting. Throw a hundred dick pics out there, save the time of doing the chatting up, if only a couple get a positive reception, it was worth it.

You asked my opinion. You can have yours.
There are worse crimes, is my point.
It might be a good idea to quite whilst you are a long way behind.

It reeks of "I will defend the indefensible because he plays at my club - however I will be outraged and post incessant derogatory comments if someone from another club were to do the same thing".

I completely agree with you.

The Patton stuff is concerning due to the number of woman coming out, if this was a couple of girlfriends, then who are we to judge? It genuinely seems like he used these dating apps to take advantage of woman and treat them with absolutely no respect. Did he ever intend on finding 'love', or was it all just about amusing himself during Covid?

If they were to criminalise it, it would cause an explosion of cases in the court system - but might discourage people from doing it. It's the continual problem of the legal system being slower to change and adapt to new technology than society adopts it.

But I agree - the sending of unwanted explicit pictures should be an offense. It does create a potential issue of consent - what counts as acceptable interest from another party before the pics can be sent.

One thing I have often wondered is why cannot the access to the internet etc be removed from people with serious convictions - such as child pr0n offenses. Why cannot all the Telco's simply agree not to provide Person X with an internet or phone service ??? Perhaps if Patton lost his ability to send such pictures for 6 months, he might learn from it.... Is access to the internet a basic right for everyone ??

(sorry for the slight/massive tangent....)

That's what it is. He throws 100 darts and even if only 1 or 2 girls are interested, which let's face it some will be, he gets his fun for that week and moves onto the next.

It's still mega creepy and gross behaviour though (the unsolicited part, nothing wrong with consensual or mutual flirting/sexting/images), but why I think he's a creep is if the end goal is to have sex with random women, he could quite easily accomplish that just being a wealthy, athletic looking pro athlete and there's 100 places in Melbourne he could find a new woman a week and have sex. There's an element to this that says this guy is not quite right and a real weirdo.

Still, for an AFL footballer to sexually harrass this many women, that can't be good for his career prospects.
