Have you ever sat through a criminal investigation? It wouldn't make good tv. It takes hundred or thousands of hours. We know it's a TV show. We know you don't think it's any good. Thanks for your views. I'll be watching tonight, despite your views.
I didnt say it wasnt any good{another misquote from a non reader maybe}
A criminal investigation would be quite interesting i would imagine. But this is a TELEVISION show and to sell air time{commercials}the best headline is.
"New evidence on Madeline"
"Beaumont investigation takes a new twist"
"Jon Benet"
"Princess Dianna revealed"
I just pointed out inconsistencies within the "show"
Relax and watch if you like but dont pidgeon hole me on your guesswork .

And he will be watching also, but will sh!tcan it all day tomorrow.
No He wont princess,But seeing as you love this shit,Maybe you cant see the BS thats entered into a serious crime and has been lost in translation.Food for thought though.
Cant wait for the gardener to tell us "the boy wasnt seen much"cue creepy music.

I guess describing it as "rubbish" is about as big a compliment as you could muster. And it's "pigeon" not "pidgeon".

This is what you said in post #60: "If your are interested in this case then ignore this rubbish."

You're on "ignore" from now on.

Tv documentaries are always going to contain a degree of fluff, it's still about ratings. If thats the only criticism then thats shallow. Instead how about diving into the forensic/linguistic/etc findings and provide counterpoints to them.

It seemed like they were working off a script rather than analyzing and working through stuff. The 911 operator was certainly fluff, why on earth she could be an expert witness I have no idea but it didnt stop her from thinking she was one just because of the 'vibe' she had. The analysis of the phone call was probably the best bit imo but even then I couldnt properly hear what they were hearing.

Sorry to intrude- I didnt watch last night (saw maybe the first 10 mins and switched off)- but I have read a book on this case.

One thing that I havent really heard about is a motive.

So the brother (allegedly) did it, but why?
Jealousy?

I guess- what over the pageants and all the attention.

Still a pretty screwy reason if you ask me.. and wasn't their semen on her underwear- is he a pedophile?
Ill have to look into that semen evidence. Seems odd. Hopefully they mention that tonight. A kid cant be a pedophile, can he? Maybe it was something the parents did to cover it up? I didnt think she was even sexually assualted.

Cowan and Percy were sexually assaulting young girls as young as like 12-15. I know the brother was younger than that tho.

See above post tho.

Weren't they suggesting that the DNA evidence on her underwear was in such minute traces that it could have been from the factory that made them.

No traces of semen has been mentioned in the doco as far as I could tell.

The brother was only 9 yo at the time she was killed. Likely nothing to do with sex and just a jealousy thing or a terrible accident from a moment of rage.

The evidence in this case is astounding.
The collection, storing and finding of some of the evidence is simply horrific in a law case.
Unfortunately the emptiness of cases such as this truly bring out the breathtakingly horrible people on the planet.
Television shows seem to follow and delist whatever they want and certainly taint peoples minds as with the "facts".
We would all hope for a result, but these new detective arama type shows now appear on foxtel regularly and seem to go nowhere unfortunately.

I get that the show is 'crimetainment' but it's so long ago now that it's unlikely to be solved for real.

Burke being the culprit and John/Patsy covering it up is the most feasible scenario so even if they could prove it, it's not really in the public interest to charge an adult who was a 9yo child at the time. (if that's even possible)

I don't condone the covering up but I can certainly understand the motive.

Missed the first 15 minutes of this last night, but gee from the moment I started watching the really seemed to hone in the family, don't think they mentioned any other potential suspects at all.

What is the minimum age you can be charged in the States??? I know here it's 10+.

You are spot on there. Someone at the factory might have sneezed/coughed.
