those of you with gamble, rioli and tippett made the right choice at the time. It's like in poker when your opponent gets the last part of his flush at the river and you're sitting there holding your head.

I decided with Gamble, Rioli and Tippett there was no point trading for Hill.

It makes sense, but still, bit painful.

Same boat as you. There's still time to admit our errors. It's cost us a potential 50+K but he's proved now he wasn't just a flash in the pan.

Same boat as you Athomas, had Tippett, Rioli and Gamble. Saw no point in trading them in for Hill.

I'm in the same reasonably small boat as you guys as well...:thumbsu:

Same situation as you fellas with Rioli,Tippett and Gamble but I traded Tippett for Hill. I think it is hugely important to have the best cashcows at the start of the year and I had to bring Hill in.

I see where you guys are coming from though:cool:

So who did you trade out? Tippett or an underperforming mid-priced forward?

Bolded...

Wow, that is the perfect example. Made me feel better now :D:p
at least if that happens he's already made us $74,400

Yeh but Rioli and gamble will still make 50K+ so if that happens it's bad.
But it won't happen so you have nothign to worry about ;)

I agree with you - in a way. Personally i took Hill over Gamble at the start for the reason that Eade had talked up Hill and he played v well in preseason. I was scared of starting a young Geelong player too, not sure how many games he was going to get. But there is no way i thought he was going to average 90odd nooo way.

Good analogy though, brings back some bad memories.

I'm sorry but i find it very hard to believe anyone knew Hill was going to be this good a player this year. Even Rodney Eade conceded he didn't rate the kid until half way through round 1 when he said 'This Josh Hill can really play'.

Even die hard Bulldog fans didn't have much to say about him last year at VFL level. He was good in patches, but nobody could have possibly predicted the sort of impact he's had this year.

Got him after Rd 1. Played him Rd 2 onwards.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu::D:D:D

My question is. If he keeps scoring like this, he isn't going to be a cash cow because you won't want to trade out a guy scoring so well!!!!:p

Had Hill on the pine this week for Rioli, but not too fussed. Hope Rioli plays a blinder though, will then have two superb cash cows. :thumbsu:

you have to consider he is a young bloke, and the doggies have won all three games... and seriously, you guys are saying "if he can maintain this average the whole year...." as if he will maintain a 95 average all year... what and win the brownlow too!!!

i traded thompson out for him, so i am happy, but im def not getting over excited...

Palmer is looking just as good if not better.. .he's 20k cheaper and had scores of 87 and 90.

Hill has been causing my nightmares since round 1. I wanted him at the very start but fell $300 short so got Tippet instead (never rated Tippet, young KPP, yuk). Then this week I wanted to trade Mattner (never rated either) to Osborne to free up cash to trade Tippet for Hill. I couldn't get to a computer in time to do the trades :( Would have been a good couple of trades.

no he's not, he's $4,000 cheaper and hill has better scores

I had to use my trades for other things this week, but I still think it might be worth getting Hill even after his price hike :/
