Hodge has had injuries/lack of pre-season all year. Watch for him in his comeback game.
Yet he had 6 broken ribs, a shattered pelvis and a ruptured spleen on GF Day and came away with the Norm Smith...
Media tough, reality soft.

Not sure Podgey even understands bodily functions.
I didn't say Duddles was a bad player, just a poor investment by the Blues. He has managed to go past Ablett though.
he certainly is one clever boy this Rainman.A better player than Ablett is a poor investment
Just awesome stuff rainman
Am I the only one who thinks Judd's influence on a game is very occassional these days?
I don't post here much, but does anyone care what this Hodgepodge guy thinks?
Didn't think so.
Judd gets his own pill whereas Ablett has to feed off his superior midfield to give him so many blocks and pretty much just give the ball to him.
Am I the only one who thinks Judd's influence on a game is very occassional these days?
Probably
Fair enough, everyone sees the game differently. I find he gets a lot of "nothing" possessions. Brilliant against Collingwood's VFL team but can't say I've seen him like that at all this year. I'm not trying to be anti-Carlton. I think Carlton have quality, albeit inconsistent quality (like the Dons).
Please look at the Fremantle and Hawthorn games and tell me why he was on the bench for lengthy periods in the final quarters when the game was in the balance
Every club rests their best players including Ablett.
You do realise that's pretty much what happened at WCE, right? The entire midfield would frequently block and sheppard for Judd

For accuracyHodge has had injuries/lack of pre-season all year. Watch for him in his comeback game with Boxhill.
The debate is over.
Gary Ablett averages more possessions, but Judd averages more clearances, inside50s, assists, contested possessions, and just about every other stat you care to mention.
Gary Handball Jr will still get the plaudits because of who his father is, and will continue to rack up 10 kick/30 handball games, but Judd is the better footballer for mine.

How far are both of them behind Hodge?
Ablett has more 'up side' (remember that one flog?)
Sounds like you have changed your mind again Ray.He goes missing when the game is on the line. I don't think he had one effective disposal in that final term. His direct opponent had 12.
Absolution Rubbish.....
Judd would do much more than ablett if he were at geelong. Ablett could not do what Judd has done at Carlton.
No one can disagree with that....
I disagree with that. It's absolution rubbish
Ablett is better than Judd in the middle, and he is much much more effective going forward. Still a fair way ahead of Judd, couple of weeks out injured doesn't changed that, unless you're a numpty.
Ablett going home and not sticking with his mates is an absolute disgrace. I'd call for Judd's captaincy if he did that.
Forget who is the better player. Judd is a top clubman and leader. Ablett will never have that string to his bow like Juddy.
