Discuss,

What is there to discuss? You haven't asked anything, just stated coaches votes.

Are you suggesting they are the two best players in the competition?

Well, I for one, would not presume to know more than the 17 AFL coaches. Good to see a ruckman and forward (of course) currently in the top ten. However, it is only round 10 - still 14 to go so lots of room for movement, both up and down.

You could also suggest that the AFL coaches would have Watson at 1 if he wasn't injured.

Strange thread.

On topic - Judd and Murph having great years. Surprised to see them 1 & 2, but the coaches have to allocate a certain number of votes in every game so it's no surprise that our only elite player and the bloke most likely to join him at that level are attracting a decent proportion of them in a season during which we've only lost two games.

Off topic - I think it's mildly interesting that 7 out of the top 10 (8 if you include Cox) play in the midfield.

Given the annual whingefest that suggests the Brownlow is little more than a midfielder's medal, I reckon it shows that even the coaches aren't beyond focusing on those who get a lot of the ball.

I'm actually a little surprised not to see more backmen/blokes who play shut-down roles in there. Coaches usually love that shit...

Pendlebury should be top 3 has not played a bad game all year.
Collingwood have a better spread of players which is why only thomas scrapped in near the bottom.

Murphy has also been very good this year.

Judd has played 3 good games one of which was a blinder.
Again he is being overrated.

Yes of course.

The coaches are wrong and so are the punters.

Which 3 games are you referring to, just for shits and giggles.

I am not. A backman will sometimes get in the best, however he will get beaten every now and then. Thus it is much harder for them to consistently get votes. Particularly since they need to get voted by both coaches, from what I have seen looking at the detailed votes, often the opposition coach will think the FB did a stellar job on a player, but his own coach thinks there is room for improvement and doesn't give out a vote. I have seen this happen to Glass on numerous occasions.

I would say it is because sometimes the coaches confuse Murphy and Judd due to their shaved heads. Very tricky way of Murphy to increase his coach and brownlow votes.
Hmm let me have a wild guess and say you're not a hair dresser... cause if Murphy's head is shaved, then Lingy has a black afro.

Where are all the Carlton supporters who were yelling about how the award is a joke when Swan got it last year?

Murphy and Judd have had great years so far, Carlton have moved up from a one-man to two-man team. Gonna need a few more consistent contributors (Simpson is getting there) to make it past the first round of finals, however.

No. It just says Carlton have a heavy reliance on both Judd and Murphy and they don't have much below them.

Lol.

Last year it was "you rely heavily on Judd, no other good players". Now it's "you rely heavily on Juddy and Murphy, no other good players".

I imagine by the end of the year Jamison will be AA and critics will be saying "your rely heavily on Judd, Murphy and Jamison, no other good players".

People still genuinely believe we wouldn't make the 8 without Judd. Lol. He's probably our 3rd best player this year.

It probably helps us how much the AFL disregard us. A lot of our players are chronically underrated purely because people hate us.

you are so right... it's not like Scotland hasn't been outstanding and in line for AA... Jamo has been shocking, Jeffry and Walker haven't kicked a goal yet and Gibbs has been pulled apart by his opponents...

Don't bother. As long as Judd plays we'll be branded a one man team. I'm sure the club use that for added motivation.
