Judd & Murphy 1 & 2 - say the AFL coaches

Remove this Banner Ad

Murphy now 16 votes ahead of 2nd - 38% more votes to this stage of the season, which is quite remarkable. He's averaging 0.02 less votes a game than Swan did last year (5.18 to 5.16).

AFTER RD 13
62 Marc Murphy (Carl)
46 Chris Judd (Carl)
46 Sam Mitchell (Haw)
46 Daniel Wells (NM)
44 Dean Cox (WC)
44 Ryan O’Keefe (Syd)
43 Matthew Boyd (WB)
43 Nathan Fyfe (Fre)
43 Jobe Watson (Ess)
41 Joel Selwood (Geel)

Very close under Murphy's - Wells has jumped from outside the top 10 in equal 2nd.

How does Murphy go from 50 up to 62?

The votes are in and the dynamic duo are one and two according to the AFL coaches after round 10.

32 Dale Thomas (Coll)

Discuss,

Just illustrates what we've all been saying that carlton are a 1 man (now 2) team with a few other ok players. No-one to share the votes with and given they're in the top 4 it would defy mathematics if Judd and Murphy weren't top 2.

Nothing to get excited about here.

Geelong had Selwood, Ablett and Chapman at 3rd, 6th and 8th.

Were they a three man team last year?

Not sure if you're insinuating that Murphy and Judd are far and away the best players in the competition, hence the ability to drag an average team into 3rd.

Also, not sure how a 1 man team has two players in the top 2.

In short, you've got no idea.

Nope, just an excellent team with depth.

If you were trying to prove a point you failed.

I'd point out the logical fallacy in this post but why bother when it's so blatantly obvious?

Bitterness that we smashed the Swans with the 1 man in our 1 man 2 man team not having much of an impact, perhaps?

Suffice to say, the fact that Murphy, Judd and Jamison would be locks in the AA side at the moment, with Walker, Scotland and Garlett on the periphery.

Sportal managed to fit in 5 of our boys into their AA side, Rohan Connolly all 6. Not bad for a one man two man team.

If you're saying they're the 2 best players in the comp and to back them up you have a truck load of depth then I wait for you to beat the pies and geelong.

Go blues

Nothing to get excited about if your a swans fan i guess ..It wasn't just Judd and Murphy tearing your side a new one the other day ..Kreuzer Yarran Walker Scotland etc etc got in on the act .

You don't sit top four by being a one man side.

BTW Goodes could use a little help at times .

Sydney must be shit to get beaten by 2 men.

I suppose we should be thankful we have gone from a one man team to a two man team. Such a shame that neither of the two were our best against Sydney otherwise we might have won....hang on a second, not only did we win, but the game was dominated by a bloke playing his second game back from an ACL injury.

Imagine when we actually have 22 players play....you know, a 22 player team......we'll be unstoppable :thumbsu:

Collingwood were obviously a 2 man team last year with Pendles and Swan racking up huge brownlow votes.

It's almost like players from the best sides are among the best in the AFL, who would of thought?

Maybe if we had a FB in AA form like a Michael Jamison & a couple of forwards capable of averaging 2 goals a game, players of the calibre of Jeff Garlett & Andrew Walker & even a player who could consistently match up on quality players like Goodes, Goddard etc, a bit like Bryce Gibbs has been doing, we might be unstoppable. I guess we can only dream.

Taking it too far there, ms. Next you'll be asking for a dashing half back flanker, sort of like Yarran, or an experienced veteran with solid disposal, ala Scotland. While we're dreaming, a nutcase who only knows one way like Mitch Robinson would complement Judd and Murphy. Maybe a decent winger with a hard edge and a raking kick. Have always had a soft spot for that Kade Simpson fellow.

And how about a 200cm behemoth with the mobility and ground level skills of a midfielder, who is unconditional with his multiple efforts and tackles with the best of them. Someone capable of serving the footy on platter to our 2 men in Judd and Walker. How I've long to see either of the two stream away from a contest with the ball palmed down perfectly to them. Perhaps he can go forward and kick a goal or two every now and again.

Who am I kidding? No such player exists. :(
