And vice versa, but isn't it arrogant to suggest St Kilda will bend to Essendon on Essendons say so?

No one is suggesting StKilda should bend. But what is the harm in making an offer?

Regarding Richmond and Essendon won't one have to bend or the afl will fine them?

Essendon and Richmond don't clash. We never have, no one noticed it when we last played and both clubs will be telling the AFL that.

do you think Broadbridge would be happy by the way the money would be raised? By selling the Melbourne jumper?

Dont fall for those dirty tricks Dee's.
Essendon will try all scumbag tricks like this , preying on charity for their own agenda.
What?

Here's an opportunity to raise money for a worthy cause, that otherwise stands the chance of being forgotten.

Here's a way of turning a negative into a positive for all concerned.

As for Troy (and Trisha) Broadbridge, I bet they'd be pleased to see something flow back into the area, even if it is bribe money from Essendon supporters.

If Melbourne don't like it, we'll wear our traditional jumper, works for me.

I refuse to pay the slightest bit of attention as to what a club surviving on AFL money thinks of our jumper.

doesn't really matter what melbourne thinks to be honest. It is up to the AFL and if they decide their is a clash and your alternate strip is not good enough then it is back to the drawing board for the bummers

The stupid AFL rule says the 'clash' jumper must be predominately a lighter colour

So under the AFL's stupid rule Essendon had no choice but to submit something with more red (which Melbourne reckons clashes even more so due to the extra red - despite them having a red clash jumper themselves)

Just highlights the farce of the whole situation

Ahhh... thanks for that.

Yep, that is pretty stoopid. I don't believe a predominantly black guernsey would clash with the Dees' home strip as there's a fair bit of red front and back. If the AFL shouldn't be inflexible on that rule. I can understand the Bombers not wanting to add another colour, that's taking things way too far.

Do you get the impression that when Gillon McLachlan admitted on SEN that he "hadn't thought through" all the issues surrounding the Clash jumpers in finals, he may have left out the fact that he also "hasn't thought through" the fact that no-one knows what a light colour and a dark colour is?
Is Red light or dark?
I guess Black is dark, and White is light.
But what is Grey? What is Royal Blue? Light or Dark?
What is Geelong's hoops? Dark or Light?

I heard the fine was $220,000

If I was the Melbourne footy club I would get together with St Kilda and each ask for 500,000 a game, see if Essendons heritage is worth 1 million a year

You really are thick aren't you? Why would we pay 5 times the fine? If they won't accept less than the AFL fine, then the club will just pay that.

Well you would actually be only paying about double the fine as it would be 220,000 each game

Why should Melbourne or the Saints accept any money from you just because your club is to :D:D:D:Ding stubborn?

It is only $110,000 a game, $5,000 each player, you do the math, oops you're a Pie nuff nuff, sorry. So if they don't accept less, then they get ZERO & we still get to wear what we want. :p

You are going on the rule for wrong uniform currently in place, the fine for not wearing a clash strip is 220,000

Do you want to post the link for that, as I haven't seen it.

PS: Still a lot less than a million.

There is no rule saying anyone must wear a clash strip, so how can there be a penalty for not doing so?
