With Geelong and Sydney both pulling out of the race for Lovett we may still get to keep him, to me this would be a great result and with the immenant addition of Prismall in the coming days, keeping Lovett will only bolster our side. :thumbsu:

Lovett to single-handedly win us elimination against Carlton in 2009 :thumbsu: We will not regret keeping this guy, come on dons, only 2 more days to survive.

Considering he's been put on the trade table for nearly two months I'd suggest that keeping him isn't too high on Matty Knights' agenda. He has done his dash at Windy Hill and whether it be at Geelong or somewhere else, I can't see him wearing red & black next year.

I believe Knights said we'd keep him if we didn't get the right draft pick/player for him. Bring it on - a fired up Lovett and a fit Davey could burn sides apart!!

i can see him in red and black again for sure.

aside from the offfield issues that have been highlighted lovett is a 26yo - the perfect time to trade whilst he has currency. so it wasn't just the issues it was picking the right bloke that we could afford to lose for a high draft pick and he was the one. but if knights doesn't get what he wants he will certainly take him back as he is definitely capable of good football.

I would be happy for Lovett to stay and hopefully the week of conjecture over his career will convince him to pull his head in a bit.

I always find it bizarre that these guys don't realise they only have 3-6 years at the elite level. Surely they can stay focussed for that long then they can relax and do what they want!

ive thought we should keep him all along, when our side gets up and running he will be an awesome player. i will be pretty down if knights trades him, i dont think another club will pay anything more then pick 25, his worth to this football club is higher then that imo. dont give another club a good deal. if this year is anything to go buy knights sticks to his word. he said if the right deal doesnt come which if i remember correctly he thought was pick 19-24 then he said he wouldnt trade him and going on what i have seen from knights thus far i think he will stick to that

Hope not. Even though we may lose a potentially great player, the club needed to take a stance on his antics
They already have.

Twice suspended and now put up as trade bait. I'm guessing this has been one scary week for Lovett.

So if we keep him, and with just one year left on his contract, he'll want to get his sh-t together.

Has it been scary or is Lovett happy to move on? I am guessing that he might not mind the talk about him going to Geelong as there is a very good chance he could be part of a premiership in the next few years. I have heard that he wants to stay at Essendon but how much? Personally I would love to see Lovett leave but understand why he is being traded/put up for trade.

I hate thinking of him in the Cat's jumper as i feel he would really dominate in a good team
