Just a variety of articles from different writers, mainly from the West Aust. I also see him more as an assistant to Longmuir, myself, If that's the way we go. Still, the club, especially Bell know him well.

Ah fair enough.
I’m reading more about how highly rated JLo is and that he is the logical choice over Sumich.
Would love Caracalla to be considered, but family situation seems unlikely

I just want a strong coaching line-up.
Jlo seems to have more of a current finger on the AFL pulse, for sure.

As long as the new coach coaches to kick goals instead of defend them I’ll be happy
well it won't be Hale if his first go at it is to bring in no forwards and players with questionable disposal skills, you know, to fix the lack of scoring and poor skills...

Don’t disagree.
I feel like Sumich is out of touch.

JLo been at Eagles and Pies in successful periods. Both teams that prioritize skills etc. young fresh ideas. Buckley gave him a glowing endorsement. Only endorsement Sumich is getting are from media etc

JLo Seems like a perfect fit.

fu** me this incessant “promoting” of sumich is doing my head in.
It’s bordering on properganda and so many of these numpties are falling for it .
Forgetting everything else he’s been out of the system for 3 years.
Never coached on the east coast amongst different set ups .
If Lyons yesterday’s man what’s that make suma?

He was too stubborn/ignorant to move east for an assistant job there-in which case i honestly think he would of been given a shot by now.
Nope he wanted the easier path putting all his eggs in the local basket.
Sorry that doesn’t scream ambitious and driven enough for me.

Tho again the irony here being he actually would of ALREADY been our coach if he d been brave enough and left his wc roots- When Connolly got appointed his mate schwabby first thing was to try and get suma across, suma decided to stay with the eagles so the club got harvey instead.

So when cuddles got the boot it would of been suma taking over not harvey.
A lot people forget this.

So no he’s had his shot , didn’t really try or failed (wc -2014) so instead has tried his hardest through his spud farming mafia media mates to undermine , whiteant and generally just try and parachute himself into the top job at freo.

Sorry peter it’s a job that has to be earnt and you most certainly haven’t earnt it
Love this post. Sumich being pushed by mates in media. Take it as gospel. Sumich wasn't that well respected and was out of his depth when at Freo last time. Players weren't that upset when he was moved on. Watch players look to get out of there in the next couple of years if Sumich gets job. For the sake of the future and credibility, Longmuir needs to get the job.

I've got no idea but my only worry is that both Suma and JLo come across like airheads. Then again so do Hardwick and Scott and they've had success.

I just hope it's a thorough process run by the panel and the best man (or woman) is appointed. It's still August we have 6-8 weeks till the trade period - we have time.

Harbour Masters overwhelming preference is for JLo - which is a good choice given his CV is just as impressive as Sumich.

I get that JLo is potentially a good candidate but I feel really uneasy at all the string pulling going on - as opposed to doing an exhaustive search for the best person for the job. just lends this awful “jobs for the boys” vibe about it.

They pushed him into another role because the two couldn't work together and then Suma told them he would leave at the end of the year.
I worked at a call centre.

The centre manager was customer centric and won the call centre of the year.

The company wanted to focus on sales and moved her sideways to a development role which she hated.

Then she found another call centre manager job.

It was an extremely clever way to get rid of someone without sacking them and going through unfair dismissal claim.

Fair comment, but I'm not sure where else he could have been shifted too. It could be either, depends on who you believe. I doubt he would be coming out publicly, if he felt he wouldn't have a hope in hell. Surely his mate Bell would say something. Who knows, really. The final outcome is the only thing that really matters.

I don't want no eagle Ming anywhere near my club.
Whoosh and Suma reek of it. The west and seven are pushing hard to plant these two deep inside to control and sabotage our future. Stuff that.

Jlo is the go for Freo

Couldn’t care less if they were from West Coast. Woosha seems past it as a coach, probably more so than Ross was tbh (but with a much better list) but if Bell for whatever reason was to vacate his position I reckon Woosha would make a great head of football operations tbh.

Bell isn’t vacating his position so that’s irrelevant though.

I’ve heard too much negative stuff about Sumich to want him as coach. He’d basically be another Mark Harvey (ie incompetent) except most players actually liked Harvey. I know some didn’t (Rhys Palmer hated his guts) but Sumich is not the hardest worker and is not a people person apparently- not what I want from a senior coach.

I’m probably supporting Richmond for the rest of the year after Sunday so I’ll just stick with them if we hire Sumich.

My perfect candidate for a modern coach considering I have absolutely NFI on how it actually works but just listening to how other more knowledgeable people talk about the job nowadays

20 % tactical nouse

20 % leadership experience

30 % interpersonal skills

10% charisma

10% media savvy

20% zen

I know that's more than 100 but it's not really a job for normal human beings is it

I wanted to frame it in this thought exercise we did at work 1 time where you had to answer all these questions and then they said what type of bird you are

Anyone else done that 1 , pretty sure I was an Owl 🦉 with some eagleish 🦅 tendencies

Shit maybe the Rossy Posse sensed something all the times I got told to go support the Eagles on the RTB thread

It should depend on the presentation to the board.

What we don't want is someone to come in and say the list is hopeless and it'll take 3-4 years to turn around the mess that Lyon has has left it in - it'll be like those useless political parties who suddenly unearth giant budget black holes once they get into power and have the media run with it.

We've won 8-8-9 in the past three years. The new coach is there to build on that. If they think the club is at rock bottom - then don't apply for the job.
