Yeah true. No different to match day threads back in 2017-18.

Over reactions for every win or lose was hilarious
You mean match threads in general? Every goal either way causes freak outs

Only Acres would have made us better. And that would have come at the expense of Henry's rapid growth.

The other 3 would all be best on ground for Peel.
Yeah Acres would be in the best 23. But then again, would Henry, Erasmus and Johnson would of played as much games this season?

Tucker would of played between 5-10 games this season. Might not of played any dockers games considering coyler and Wilson haven't played one this season.

Meek would easily played a few this season, especially with Darcy injured.

Logue.... Would be at least playing with cox injured

I don't know about the ups and downs. My thoughts about the coach haven't changed all year and won't be changing in the next four rounds. We have had a poor year but we won't know how bad it was, i.e. whether it's the waste of a rebuild or just a hiccup, until next year.

The haters come out after a loss, the lovers come out after a win.

Love it, BigFooty to a T.
Well when you win 8 and loss 11 games it goes with the territory.
The problem with Freo is that we have history of promising much and
delivering very little.
Also another player walking out, and games into Johnson, Erasmus is
stretching the truth or narrative.
19 games and we finally see Young being talked about as a midfielder.
I don’t dislike JLo but even a blind man can see how woeful we are off
the field.

Well I feel sorry for Joel Corey and hoping he isn't the fall guy for some ones else's problems.
I don't think we should be letting anybody go, until we have spent more coin to fix the coaching
issues caused by not replacing Carr.
That and losing Mundy, Acres, NOD, Brodies form and injury and adding JOM was always a gamble even now.
Serong is the only guy who has lifted from last year.
Joel was involved in the midfield of the Bulldogs premiership team, and I suspect was the one who wanted Young
to play on Danger.
I reckon he would be worried about his job, but he is well qualified to do what is required.
We need to think more outside the square, I don/t think this is JLo's forte, and why more experience is required.
That and losing players every year is bad list management, not a coaching issue.
But something is wrong when ATM we can not fix things outside of preseason, and at the end of the day the buck
stops with JLo and a conservative approach.

A little nuggety insight slipped out from JL today on this interview with Rhino on C7 if anyone noticed…
Joel Corey has been pushing for a while to get Young running though the midfield!!!
That’s what JL said tonight.

Now the question is…. Who was resisting that change?? Maybe Corey has been scapegoated a bit prematurely for our midfield woes if that is true 🤔

Heh...on socials they were asking what we thought of this move...

I said might've been good to try 10 weeks before when the midfield were getting smashed on the regular

I’m guessing Boyd fought hard to “keep” Young in defence. Ultimately JL’s call of course.

So Boyd doesn’t care how the team does as long as the defence is good. Surely not.
No that’s not what I meant to infer, more the pros and cons of any move being discussed. I prefer Young in the midfield too and hope it continues.

The best thing for our defence is having a winning midfield.
Amen Sister !
And a forward line that applies pressure so the ball doesn’t bounce out like a yo-yo like it did at the start of the year

At the start of the season, a number of media experts reckoned that Freo may have a season of going backwards, to re-group and head upwards next season. Being human, we dismissed this as negative talk.

Maybe this is what is happening ?.

Corey suggested the move of Young to Dangerfield in the last match and it was another coach by memory who suggested the game winning move of Aish to Oliver in our win over Melbourne at the G last year. ie it wasnt JLo.

Yes he gave them credit which is certainly the honourable thing to do given he personally accepts the blame when things go bad but it still doesnt pacify the nagging belief that JLo himself may not be that capable of in-game and in-season, outside the box thinking or innovation. We may never know what really happens behind closed doors. Like the team itself, JLo is very young and still learning. I am OK with staying stable for one more year to see how he goes but Belly really has to give him some quality assistants at years end.

I agree he should coach next season.

Strongly disagree on the 'young and still learning' position. He was an assistant coach for a decade or more. He has been in this position for over three years. No CEO gets that latitude past the first couple of quarters. He is being very well paid, no one should be giving him the young and developing out.

Should he still be learning and improving, as a minimum that should be an expectation for every coach. It shouldn't enter our thinking on how much time he should have in the position.

I think he should have the last year because of what was achieved last season. If we have four wins at the bye we need to let him coach the season out and replace him at the end of the year.
