Thought he was very good yesterday. There’s definitely a wing with his name on it if he can maintain that sort of output.
Originally he pretty much lost his spot for not impacting games enough. As a wide player I think some of that comes down to being a victim our surge play style. Internally we shouldn’t care if he only gets it 15 times a game so long as they’re quality attacking possessions. He can definitely break a line and as we saw vs Sydney that’s as valuable these days as its ever been.
Keep it simple for him. Get ball, run fast, hit chest.

Kamdyn is best in the winter months - when pure skill goes out the window and simple (but important) footballing comes to the fore...

Kicked the ball well last night. I don't get the knock on his kicking, reckon in general he hits them pretty low and straight mostly. Not a lot of creativity, but a bit like Graham, they tend to go straight. Confidence is a massive part of kicking unless you are naturally a very good kick... like DES.

being huge, fit, and tough is a nice mix to the middle group
Not sure what game you blokes watched yesterday.
He fell over 3-4 times in contests & had 7 uncontested possessions for the game and was pretty much unsighted.
Will keep his spot once again due to Caddy being injured but he won’t be there come the business end of the season.

I think he goes for the wrong option more than poor kicks
Watched the replay of the game yesterday afternoon with particular interest in Kamdyn's performance. He actually played his role well and was particularly effective in the first and last quarters. In the immortal words of Jack Dyer, he's a good ordinary footballer and that's not to be disrespected.
That may be so, that may be confidence as much as anything. He has been playing for a spot in the side so you are never as good as when you are up and about and feeling part of the side, as he would be right now.

Provides us structure, is a big body in a contest, good when the ball hits the ground and runs and carries. No coincidence we have looked better when he and Caddy have been in the side as they really help us aroune contests and when the ball is in dispute.
Never gonna be the 20 possession a week midfielder, but busts his gut, cracks in and halves contests more often than he loses them.
Stays in for me. Especially with Caddy out.

will be upfront and say i have not seen the game but if anyone thinks a 7 possesion game on the wing is a good game then they are kidding.
If the stats are anything to go by he played his usual role of being where the ball aint.

You dont need to see the game to see he didnt get his hands on the ball and it is a constant criticism of his game.
I will get around to actually watching this game for no other reason to see what drugs people must be on.
On Caddy was he missed he played just 29% game time and it seems they didnt miss him one bit.
For me Ross in for Caddy and give me RC-D for the muppett McIntosh.

He had 13 pressure acts. The same number as Vlastuin and Grimes combined. Stats don't tell the whole story, especially at our club. Watch the game first before making a judgement on his game. Several times McIntosh was outnumbered on the wing and either halved or won the contest. Didn't get involved in a lot of possession chains, but he applied pressure and transitioned well defensively.
If all you want is someone to run both ways then i reckon you could play the role.
For most of his career he has been a liability and not a lot has changed over the journey.
Low possesion getter very few contested possesions or clearances is not a high tackler most weeks has a case of the fumbles and is not the best of kicks
.Running hard both ways and being bodied doesnt automatically make you a good player.
With so few disposals he had damn well better be doing other things.
On the stats well they basically say he did not touch the footy much in this case they dont lie.
If we are not actively seeking more rounded players and are content with limited role players all over the park then we are setting ourselves up for a fall.
Kamdyn would have to be one of the most easily replaced players we have.
Wow someone without the blinkers on.This yr He is down in every area bar one when compared to his career averages.
A 7 possesion game and he played well !!!! makes it pretty hard to have a bad game id say.

Yeah. I agree. I think that is due to the shift in game plan. No longer are we the possession side that tried to utilise precise ball movement a la 2013-2016. We are now a pressure based side who tap and knock on. As such, possession numbers are down for most of our players now compared to those over that period. It isn't conducive to Macca having big numbers on the wing like he used to as we don't utilise a traditional wingman role anymore.
McIntosh has had 20 plus disposal games on 12 occasions. He has not changed for the entirety. here is the number of 20 plus games he has had each yr
2015 - 3
2016 - 2
2017 - 4 is that not when we changed
2018 - 3
2019 - 0
2020 - 1 so far.
Wrong to imply he was ever a big possession getter apart from the odd game. Over his career he averages 14.8 disposals for a wingman that is poor.
He averages just 4.8 contested possessions a game and for a big strapping mid like him that is lousy.
Also its wrong to imply we were a much higher possession team 2013 - 2016. Here are the average number of possessions for the team 2013 thru 2020
13 - 16.64
14 - 16.81
15 - 16.43
16 - 16.69
17 - 16.58
18 - 16.67
19 - 16.63
20 - 13.64 due to much shorter quarters during covid.
