Yep. Lincs brother, played one season in 2009. Big Ranga (strawberry blonde) CHF great set of mits, from memory kicked 50+ that year. He's living and playing in Hopetoun, he made it known he was interest in returning at the clubs presentation night. I doubt it will happen personally. Doubt he would be happy with the $$ especially considering the travel. Is only a possibility at this stage.
Yeah I know the Big fella, we both do the same type of work & occasionally have training together, so we used to go for some runs & kicks! Yeah agree he has good hands & skills but made it clear that the fitness wasn't his strongest point! If fit he could be a very good acquisition to most sides!! I guess if the $$$$ ain't quite right you could throw in the traditional pie & coke on top plus a snickers if he gets in the best? Would be worth the gamble??
Here it is then;
Stanhope, Murchison, Violet Town, Nagambie and maybe even Merrigum would have hit your $70G mark in the KDFL, so that's 5 out of 100 minor league clubs gone!!, Mt. Pleasant in the HDFL next season is supposedly going to blow that $70G figure 3 fold. They have put together a war chest to make sure Colbo don't win a flag in their 100th year. $30G just for a non-playing coach in a minor league

No smear campaign mate, just putting some cold, hard facts on here for once, for some reason people would rather run along with rumours and innuendo (or your guessing!!). I don't have a problem with the spending especially when sponsorship, membership, fundraising, social committee, gate and canteen well and truly covered the above expenses.
Cant have it both ways here Hank - plucking figures out of your arse regarding Mounts spending (that by the way is way off the mark) and then making statements about only dealing with "cold hard facts" rather than rumour and innuendo? You state "supposedly". Is that rumour and innuendo? I'm all for anyone having a say (as I am now) but dont hedge your bets. Practice what you preach.

I thought it was worth sharing on here some facts instead of rumour
Made it very clear that my figures from Mounts were nothing but rumour(didn't come out of my arse though, the RUMOUR of Decka getting $30,000 for a non-playing coach sounded exorbitant at first. but having played with and against him, he wouldn't be heading out to Mounts for much less

Undera are hot on the heels of MATT BYERS the former Barooga and Shepparton coach to lead them into 2014 as senior coach [possibly playing] Matt hasn,t played for 4 years but still only 34 If the lions get him it would be great .Matt has the Morrison and the murray,s Odwyer medal to his name plus many b+f,s in the 3 clubs he has played inc Wangaratta what a player he was !Hope you get him Lions!!

Last years side? Like I said in a earlier post they need leg speed more then anything else!
Hearn and Stevenson will provide plenty of speed.
Byers would be a very good get but would have to source some quality to come with him. Would be great to see Longwood make a charge and Gig sneak up the table, especially with Merrigum seemingly consolidating.
ah hank - if u were close it wouldnt annoy me so much. You obviously have the facts regarding Stanhope so fair enough to comment on it. Whoever is giving u your info on Mounts is way off. So much its funny. Yep Derek has or had that stigma so can understand that. Think everyone will find he's at a different stage now.

Fair enough mate, as I said only what I was told, I have no idea and don't care other than think its great for the HDFL that Mounts are going to be back up there after a pretty lean period, the quality of major league players (and Coach) that you have been able to attract is, again great for the League, whether its taking $100,000, $150,000 or $200,000 to do that is up for debate until someone leaves next years Expenditure figures lying around, and even then I'm sure there is still some under the table brown paper bags being handed out at Toolleen

He played for Merrigum in 2009 and Numurkah and Tatura before that. The Gum hasn't lost anyone as far as I know.

Players coming back is good for the club but Freeman was struggling at Murchison to make an impact before he left.
First ruck at shep east in their flag last year still goes ok

The Mountain men are coming from about 15-20 goals behind the top 2 so still some work to do. But i'll save all this for the HDFL site. And your right - be good to have them back being competitive. If I see any brown paper bags lying around I'll let you know.

The league currently has a proposal to decide on for Senior finals qualification be lifted from 3 to 6 games. Also for the Reserves max Senior games to go from 9 Senior games to 12! Thoughts?
