Sorry craig, but those numbers of proposed payments are ridiculous. The KDL clubs simply don't have that amount of coin to throw around, and even if they did, it would only be a matter of years before that club was in a hole that they'd not get out of.
Most reserve the right to pay some good money to a couple of key players(maybe 3 or 4), but with most clubs, the large majority of players sign on the line for nothing but an opportunity to play with some mates and try to win a flag.

I'm sure if you were to look into clubs books not that it goes through the books, you would be surprised at what money is being paid out to players and players that you think are not getting paid,blokes you think are on 100 are on 200 . You would get big shock if true figures come out.

Hank, I was just trying to fathom $70,000 being spent in a season. It is almost criminal to be asking one player to pay say $100 on a membership when another is taking home $200 a week, especially when they are comparitive players.

I certainly hope you are quite the footballer then young fella because your spelling leaves much to the imagination! As for being all talk? Where has this come from? I never once mentioned how great i was or said i was better than this Baker kid, simply just saying the old man needs to cut the umbilicol cord and let the boy live his own life

Look as I said was on the committee and new what everyone was getting in most of my years at Stanhope and Coached, recruited and budgeted for last 4years at Tonny, and in those last 4 years in a major league we did not even break into the 70G category and that included all coaches, players and incentives.

And how do u know he doesnt lives his own life u dont evan know the kid from a bar of soap neither his old man so y act like u do know him ur just another guy on this big footy critersizing everyone.

I think you are starting to lead us along a little bit now fouryearold

Jack Smyth on the same as Mooroopna Man as was Jack Trotter, in fact both gentleman have served the club more as energetic committeeman rather than senior coaches, without taking anything away from their roles.

I suppose we are one of the lucky ones

Once again your jumping the gun here young man. I dont get on here and criticize everyone, i wasnt even criticizing the kid baker. If you read my posts you would see all i have done is mention how his father is trying to live his football career through his son, telling him where to go and what to do. Just let the kid play football. Your spelling and grammar may be up sh!t creek however you have got something right, i dont know the kid and i dont plan on changing that any time soon. I have been told from some Stanhope townspeople about why they are leaving the club and what they are like (Or should i say what you lot are like;))

If you dont know them why are you so interested in them sounds to me like your shooting someone elses bullitts who cares if he tells his kid what to do lets get on with football

Jack will end up playing at a club this season who have been hounding him well before Christmas and it is all his choice or maybe he just might not play at all.

I no Jack personally, he is a good friend of mine, it sounds bad that he is once again leaving, and it opens up all opinions everyone has about what goes on in his life, with his family and what not, but BandGeek, try and find out the real story before you post into a open blog. It has absolutely nothing to do with his father. It is disappointing from a friend and teammate's perspective, but he has a legitimate reason for wanting to leave, and i back him 100% for it.

he's no footballer he's just a cheat reserves umpire, and from memory batted number 11 for stanhope A reserve cricket team vs murch and didnt quite get a bowl either ....

And anyway, why would Stokes Yellow Card a Lanky player for a Hip n Shoulder??? Oh yeah...it was because it was his son who copped the bump!!:thumbsu:
