As Zim said rankings aren't the be all but it concerns me seeing all the 1st rucks in the top 50 players

A result of contested marks and clearances being added in, both of which rucks are strong in. At the end of the day, we all have to play by the same rules, rankings are just a number the algo has spat out when comparing all the stats. All of the stat choices will favour a position, we choose them then we plan accordingly and draft, whoever does it the best will play finals.

im actually 2nd guessing my vote for disp efficiency and going the opposite change to u lol. Cant make up my mind but disp eff seems to favour backs with all their cheap chip kicks

Okay, what about ratings of 2 for score, kicks, handballs, tackles and contested marks, and ratings of 1 for ordinary marks, hit outs, spoils, clearances and/or disposal efficiency. Would that make the rankings better?

We're so close to having it mapped out lets not start weighting cats separate. Considering only 3 coaches wanted score weighted at 2 I dont think we should go there, I don't think there's anything wrong with what we have as 8th and 9th cat, 2 of clearances, contested marks and disp eff % will be good.

It never was perfect. We are placing way too much emphasis on the player rankings. Looking at the old UF site, Hogan is ranked 15th and Treacy is 38th. We all know in order to win a match up you need to win 5 categories.

Even back in the day you'd have a player play their 1st game in round 10. Had an average game and he's ranked in the top 10 after that game. It was always flawed .

I propose we have each category worth 20 points. Not 1. Just for looks. So 180 points available. A 5-4 win would be 100-80. 6-3 120-60.

Just looks real.

Another alternative is like the Paul roos cup. Score, kicks, hb, marks, ho, tackles worth 2. And the 3 new ones worth 1.

Rucks are valuable coz they contribute an extra stat that other players dont get, thus when they are elite at other stats plus hitouts and u have a top 10 player

That is similar to what I proposed above, except I suggested hitouts should only be worth 1, as it's a category that only ruckmaen can score in, and that contested marks should be rated higher than ordinary training drill type marks due to the degree of difficulty. But all good.

If you take the first 7 cats that are over 90% you get

Score, Kicks, Hbs, marks, tackles, Hitouts and spoils. That might work?
