It’s crazy, we’re treating 28-29 yr olds like lepers when plenty of guys are playing well into their mid 30’s. Just need to find the right role and avoid those chronic soft tissue injuries.

Eg I reckon (hope) Zac Merrett will be still going strong at 35*

*Essendon won’t have won a final though

I’m annoyed to have missed on Merrett. He was very high on my list from maybe r2 onwards. I’ve been very close to picking him since.

It’s a keeper league so I get the appeal of youth, but some of the bargains I feel have been crazy, for me and others.

I guess only time will tell which strategy works best.
