Was thinking Watts might finish higher - but of course, he was out for seven games, and somewhat worse for wear coming back from the ankle injury. Unfortunately, that's given the usual ignoramus procession an excuse to run their usual nonsense again around some parts of BF, it seems. Hopefully he'll be near the top in next year's Bluey vote though.

Nope.

Does anyone know if Brent Moloney went?

Also well done in particular to Tom McDonald. Shit team or not, to come third in essentially your first year is a brilliant effort.

Beamer was there. Got a cheers from all.

Good job by Dunn - people who don't rate him can take note - he does his bit and is far more important for our lineup than many think.

re: Bate over Green - he was better than him, simple. Just a much maligned player by our fans.

super result for Tom, well deserved too, we have a long term player there. competitive beast.

Pitty he can't kick or handabll all that well.

Well done to Jones and Grimes, but seriously, TMac Garland Mckenzie and to lesser extent rivers round out the top 6.......yuck!

why though? you can't defend his disposal. If i had a dollar for everytime he shanked a kicked 5 rows on the full or handballed the ball 5 metres to his opponent i would be a rich man. Yes his young and but it isn't as though his kicking is a little bit off it is miles off.

Dunn a surprise 10th?

Once he was moved back he played well imo

Yeah he did start the year averagely and then came into good form in the mid-year and unfortunately wasn't quite the same after the injury.

Yeh but this makes him an old school defender, first and foremost he stops his opponent. I like that. However he can kick a decent drop punt, I think its more a confidence / decision making issue, he sometimes gets tangled up with what he wants to do, he will improve this over the next couple of years I'm sure. Plus he is only 19 / 20 and looks like he can put on another 7-10kgs easily (from the 88kg listed at start of year), will be a great key position defender with Frawley for many years, great find for us!!

His disposal is nitpicked, YES, he needs to work on it.

but it is nowhere near as bad as it would appear by reading these forums.

You'd think he couldn't kick 20 metres...

Agree 100%

After one particular game (can't recall) this forum was flooded with opinion he turned over every disposal.

I watched the replay, very carefully, and there were numerous high quality disposals from Tom (including a ripping bullet pass on to Greeny's chest inside 50) and a few turnovers (like the majority of our team)

It's completely over blown

Well done to Jonesy!!! He's a fantastic player and person, and we're very lucky to have him. All Melbourne supporters should listen to his speech as well. He believes very much in the new direction of the club. Get on board people.

P.S. Players take time to develop...no bickering needed.

I think you have Jetta & Bennell mixed up with how many games each of them have played, that will def effect their average... Didn't check the others...

I prefer the new school defenders the ones that can kick and handball.

You'd think he couldn't kick 20 metres...

I've never seen a player in the back pocket all by himself with every single player infront of him no one on the mark only for him (Tmac) kick the ball 30 metres to another player on his own, only to see the ball land short and wide and roll out of bounds.

I don't believe Jones' disposal was that bad, there is a difference between just missing the mark with a good technique and having a bad technique and kicking the ball out on the full under little pressure.

Bookmark it now Tmac's disposal will never improve!

........mate....really? He's a very young player who has shown real promise. I personally love the way he's going. At least give the kid a chance. Geez.

I'd prefer to enjoy the positives players showed this year, and Tom did some outstanding defensive work.

He'll improve, because he has the desire and will to do so

What a shocker. You guys shuld tear strips off the bugger !!!

I just hope he can make a thread in the same vein about morton considering how that one went.

Demonland is generally full of real shit, but quite a few of the posters are good for reports on events like this (as they actually attend). A bunch of them are convinced that Rivers is gone (both from the tone of his speech, and the general chit-chat).
