Penola have also lost matt Wilson to north Adelaide in the sanfl and lachy jones to woodville west torrens. Brad Merrett in the Crows development squad as well

going to be an even competition next year Padthaway & Kaniva would have to be the early favourites with the side I follow Lucindale to be the big improvers! Keith and Bordertown to be around the mark again.

I've been in good form on the track for borders this pre-season and looking to average 6 or more cans a game each weekend (after masquerading as a footballer during the ressies).
 
Pretty quiet on here lately. Any updates on latest recruits from clubs. Kaniva hopefully will be a bit stronger with a few new faces

He's been named joint captain of Footscray (Bulldogs VFL team) so I'd say those are just rumours. Padthaway would be at the end of their points allocation and wouldn't have the cash for three ex afl players plus a handy SANFL footballer in Harder I'd think.

Not sure of the rules but Ed would also command a few dollars which I'd gather Padthaway won't have given they were forking out a few pennies even before Welsh, Perrie and Harder came.

They certainly have forked out some dollars. They must've had a complete clean out of recruits from last year going by the incoming recruits they have. A lot of ins

Only Matt Roscow and Ali Dillon out as far as I've seen. Not too sure about Roscow but sure Dillon was a paid player.

Bit unsure how they can keep all recruits from last year and have perrie, welsh, harder, lower, Alan Harvey, Jonathan Brice and Rick Hoffman all as potentially 3 points players and degabrielle who I'm unsure about his points
 
Who are the flag favourites? Mundulla could be dangerous if rumours are true and the Hinge brothers are heading back. Nothing in the clearances as of yet

Kaniva, Bordertown, Padthaway my picks for top three.
 
Will lucindale be big improvers, only a couple of ins, still no clearance for Logan. Kyby and Kingston don't seem to be doing much and it seems borders has lost more players than they have gained. Naracoorte have lost a few but have plenty of depth, gained Dixon??? Surely they will be up there. They are Competing in the wbfl preseason cup in a couple of weeks time, might have to check them out.

I'm hoping the cougars can get back up there this year after a disappointing year last year. Had a good hit out yesterday against Kalkee an a very tough game against dimboola in 2 weeks. Padthaway my pick to be big improvers

You'd wanna hope Kaniva can get back up given the amount of guys they are bringing in.

I know Borders have a history of recruiting from out of the district but we're not quite at their level.

Note I didn't say Borders don't recruit from out of town. We do it a lot, but not quite at that level.

For the record Bernie Vince was just some skinny kid who had family at Frances who put him up while he worked for Elders down in the SE. He wasn't a drive in, drive out recruit.

As you well know being such small towns we need to recruit just to compete. We've had a few guys move to town for work who have come out to play and had a few guys return to the club after leaving for a year
