Right, well, I along with many others believe 2012 is the beginning of our window, and our power year etc.

But how do we rate in KPP stocks if we are going to get there. I know Geelong don't have all the best KPP's, which is something to consider, but they are more than serviceable.

Please add to this as i kept it short to avoid copping it for stupid comments (which i inevitably make)

We will have:

Hurley - We all know this guys a star

Pears - Big season for him this year, but he looks good IMO.

Hille - Please, for the love of God, let him stay injury free

Ryder - Enormous asset. Can play Ruck or defense, much like Hurley can play either end.

Carlisle - Jury is still out, considering he hasnt played a game.

Neagle - Big year for him. Not 100% convinced, though I reckon he will make it

Laycock - Must be running out of chances

TBell - Hell get there.

Darcy Daniher - Could really go either way. I hope he comes through.

Gumbleton - Like Hille, lets hope he isn't injured the whole time.

Hooker - Hes gonna be good

Still - Will need him to be good, as he is an imprtant part of our succession plan concering Lucas and Lloyd.

It's mostly very unknown at the moment, although this year could be a very telling year for a couple of players. I think Hooker can end up a very good CHB with his athleticism and willingness to take on the game and if he can hold down this position, it is going to give us a lot more flexibility with the likes of Hurley, Carlisle and Ryder.

The benefit is, some of these guys are going to peaking well into the 2010's.

If Gumbleton, Hurley, Ryder, Pears and Hooker play to the potential we believe they might have, we can build a side around them for the next 10 years.

In 3-4 years time, Essendon will have the best KPP stocks in the competition. I think the best thing about our list of KPPs is that they will all be coming on at the same time. Hurley, Pears, Hooker, Still, Gumbleton, Carlisle, Daniher (and T-Bell in the ruck) all should be entering their prime in 3-5 years.

If our KPF's don't come on as we hope, at least we'll have the best defence going around and at least a serviceable forward line. But I'd like to think between Gumby, Neagle, Still and now Carlisle (and maybe even Daniher), that we'll get a more than serviceable forward line. But even if these names don't come on, I think Hurley will end up forward, and we have definitely seen the last of Ryder in defence. He will rest forward this year and beyond and he will show us in 2010 how dangerous he will be.

Pears is the man... I've been on him for a while! While everyone loves Hurley, This kid is the quiet acheiver in our side, solid as a rock down back, learning everything he can off fletch... Pears WILL be a force in a couple of years, if not next season!

Hurley - Star

Pears - Star, could be better then Hurley.

Hille - Big questions marks if he can return to 2008 form

Ryder - STAR! Will only get better

Carlisle - Haven't seen him play.

Neagle - Don't think he'll make it

Laycock - On his last legs with Essendon

TBell - Should make it

Darcy Daniher - Not sure about

Gumbleton - Who knows what will happen with him. I'm expecting games from him this year through

Hooker - Not too sure on him.

Still - Will be a gun.

Agreed Hank, Been on him from his first match im proud to say :D I think you have got one thing wrong however.... He is a force he doesn't need a couple of years

Gumbleton is the key but after the last couple of years, I'm not going to let myself get my hopes up with him. If he can hold down either FF or CHF, it will release Hurley to CHB where he will form a very good defensive partnership with Pears. Hopefully Carlisle can do what he did in the U18s in being an athletic tall who creates a good contest. It would be good if we get to the stage where we simply have too many good KPP and one or two have to go elsewhere to get opportunities.

Not too sure I agree about many of these ratings. How can you be completely unsure about Hooker but convinced that TBell "should make it" despite the fact that the coaching staff prefered to play Hooker out of position rather than playing TBell.

It is also unusual the level of certainty you have with Still compared to players who have already played senior football.

Agree T-Bell may become a good back-up ruckman, but at the moment he has done very little. We need him to come on because Hille is coming off an injury. Too bad there weren't many class rucks this draft.

I think we should grab Panos in PSD to make sure, his highlight vids are amazing, I don't know how he wasn't picked. Bigger body than Still or Carlisle too.

In fairness, he did provide the disclaimer that he is likely to make stupid comments :D

True. It was dumb and uncalled for to make a comment like that, on a kid who has been at the club for 6 days.

The comeback was all class, think before you write centrelink1. ;)

i'll be a very happy man if the bombers can add one of matthew panos or serhat temel to our primary or rookie list further strengthening our depth in the kpp dept.

The Turkish Delight should be on someones list. With a bit of work within an AFL system i think this kid could be a gem as he reads the play very well and he has the big mits that pull in a lot of marks.
Just has to work a bit on his overall agility and endurnace.

Tehmel or Panos Ant??

PSD pick prediction. Me personally am thinking it will be Barlow or Marigliani.

PSD probably Marigliani or Patrick.
Rookie draft i would prefer the Turkish Delight over Panos but either are worth looking at.

Hurley - Gun, but at which end of the field?

Pears - Will be first picked in defence for many seasons to come.

Hille - Could slot in up forward to begin with in an attempt to nurse him back this season but should form a lethal combo with Ryder in the ruck.

Ryder - Arguably number one ruckman in the club. Superstar.

Carlisle - Unknown to me.

Neagle - Not a fan. Reminds me a lot of Courtney Johns. If he proves me wrong i'll happily admit to it.

Laycock - Seems to be a confidence player. Probably won't be more than cover but could prove a handy backup. Has shown at times he has all the talent in the world and then other times he is just terrible. Hopefully he can stay fit aswell.

TBell - Again, handy back up ruckman and may take another season or two before he really begins to bloom.

Darcy Daniher - I like him. Have only seen him in defence but i like his attack on the ball. Seems to like running off his opponent, maybe a very good option for the oppositions third forward. Also think he'd go alright up forward.

Gumbleton - I look forward to seeing him string some games together.

Hooker - Put in some good performance in defence this season. Could become an important part of our backline.

Still - Will need him to be good, as he is an imprtant part of our succession plan concering Lucas and Lloyd.

I'm new here so be gentle!

Do you think Ryder falls into a KPP category after his outstanding year in the ruck. I am not sure where I think he will be most use, but the thought of playing him somewhere where he'll touch the ball ten times and he will hardly lay a tackle diminishes his value in my book.

Neagle could be a powerhouse if he can get consistency - I rate him but he is work in progress

Laycock I hate to say it has had his chances but not taken them.

Hurley is still young, hard to say gun yet, but has massive potential - back probably then a move forward later in his career (or even in the year).

Looking forward to seeing Gumbleton, hopefully quite a few games this year.

The fact that he can play in about 5 different positions means that he is incredibly valuable to the team. Knights and Co. just need to make sure that he doesn't become a good at all positions and great at none. He's a rare talent and a guy that IMO should be used at CHF or on a wing.

His ball use is good enough, wonderful athlete and I would love to see him drop into defence then float forward and take a grab.

I might be asking too much of him but I think he is more than capable of filling that type of role.

Rookie draft i would prefer the Turkish Delight over Panos but either are worth looking at.

Do you think that Marigliani will be taken in the first 10 picks in the rookie Draft Ant?? and I am hearing mixed reports on Patrick, I think he is a player that could be anything, but seems to me like we have just recruited Williams to play a similar role in the team, with John Williams also 'apparently' being re rookied, why do we need another Monfries type??
